SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Concept Art Features Mysterio - Was The Movie Going To Include The Sinister Six?

Around the time Spider-Man: No Way Home was beginning production, a rumor did the rounds that our Friendly Neighborhood Webhead would be facing off against The Sinister Six. This began to seem likely as more was revealed about the threequel and Electro and Doctor Octopus were confirmed to return, but we only ended up getting five villains.

Well, it looks like there may have been plans in place to unleash to full might of the Sinister Six after all, as some new concept art has now been shared online featuring Doctor Strange doing battle with none other than Mysterio!

Jake Gyllenhaal's Master of Illusion was seemingly killed-off at the end of Far From Home, but there was a lot of speculation that the manipulative baddie may have survived, and it seems Sony Pictures was indeed considering bringing the character back to join forces with Electro, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, The Lizard and The Sandman to oppose Tom Holland's wall-crawler and his amazing friends.

We have no idea how close this came to becoming a reality, but it does suggest that Mysterio could still return at some point, possibly as part of another incarnation of the supervillain team.

Were you guys disappointed that we didn't see the Sinister Six in Spider-Man: No Way Home, or was five villains enough? Drop us a comment down below.
