SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Passes $1.8 Billion Worldwide As UNCHARTED Opens Internationally At #1

There's more good news for Spider-Man: No Way Home this weekend as it crosses the $1.8 billion mark at the worldwide box office, while another Tom Holland movie, Uncharted, has had a big overseas debut.

Uncharted (which you can read much more about over at GameFragger.com) opened in a number of international locations this weekend, and debuted at #1 in all of them! The Tom Holland/Mark Wahlberg-led adaptation of the hit PlayStation franchise has so far earned $21.5 million - a solid, albeit pandemic-level, start.

However, Deadline is quick to point out that Uncharted is currently tracking 12% ahead of Eternals, 18% ahead of Black Widow, and 21% ahead of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

This definitely bodes well, and while the vast majority of critics have yet to weigh in, it doesn't appear as if reviews from the UK - which are something of a mixed bag - have had too much of an impact. There, Uncharted debuted with a $6.4 million haul this weekend, and Holland's star power definitely appears to be a major draw for moviegoers after the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Talking of that Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios blockbuster, it's now passed the $1.8 billion mark worldwide with a total of $1.804 billion. Spider-Man: No Way Home's international cume is now $1.045 billion, which is a spectacular achievement considering it hasn't been released in China (a situation which is unlikely to change moving forward). There's no word on what the plan is for Uncharted.

"The Uncharted games remain in a league of their own," we said in our Uncharted review, "but this movie captures their essence and delivers a rip-roaring, swashbuckling adventure with heaps of unexpected twists, full-throttle action, and another standout performance from Tom Holland."

What did you head to theaters to watch this weekend?

More of this please. Less of EVERYTHING ELSE. The fans have been greatly slighted in phase 4. Here's hoping 💰 still talks. 👍 👍

@tripttwe - "The fans have been greatly slighted in phase 4"

More personal opinions of an individual or a few, being projected onto "everyone"

The other MCU movies were still in the top 6 of 2021 domestically, so if money still talks, you're about to get slighted some more 😏😂
