Dylan O'Brien Still Hasn't Heard Anything About SPIDER-MAN

"Yeah.. I guess I'm Spider-Man" - Many fans are still hopeful Dylan O'Brien will utter these words officially, but if this PaleyFest interview is any indication of what's to come, it looks like he still hasn't heard anything about the highly sought after part.. come check it out!

Dylan O'Brien (The Maze Runner) is by far the fan favorite to play Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, but is he acually up for the part? Based on this new interview conducted at PaleyFest, it doesn't seem like it.

After chatting a bit about his hit TV show, Teen Wolf, the topic quickly shifts to Spider-Man when the reporter asks him a few hypothetical questions starting with whether he'd be able to make his Teen Wolf shooting schedule work with being cast as the famous wall-crawler. He answers with a "probably not," before going on to say how he hasn't even heard about the Spidey job outside of being asked about it in countless interviews.

Ever since Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures announced their plans to share Spider-Man, rumors about the wall-crawler's casting have circulated far and wide. Some reports say he's going to be a teenager, some reports say he'll be a different race, some say it'll either be Logan Lerman or Dylan O'Brien, and there have even been a few claiming Tobey Maguire is coming back, so It's a little hard to say what fans should believe.

Based on this interview, it looks like Marvel hasn't contacted O'Brien yet. Could this mean he was never being considered? Or has Marvel simply not begun casting yet? Captain America: Civil War is still a ways away, so it's completely fathomable that all the Spidey casting murmers were a bit premature. Or could this all be an elaborate ruse and he's just playing coy a la Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) & Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange)? Another view of the interview shows O'Brien's manager getting upset with the reporter as soon as she asks the question. Could this be because reporters were specifically asked not ask Spidey-related questions? Or could something else be up?

I'd have no problem with him getting the job, but with the rumor that Disney wants baby Parker I don't see him getting the job.

Spiderpool1420's editorial was still on to something and I actually thought it was pulled because one of the editors was notified to take it down.

@VisionaryNPA Although I would have no problem if Dylan was Spiderman...Logan is a significantly better actor (see Stuck in Love, Fury, even PoJ, Musketeers)

The interviewer said afterwards that she was yelled at by Dylan's manager for mentioning Spider-Man, since they were all told not to ask him about it. The Teen Wolf creator also teased him about being a part of the Avengers during the Q&A. Take that as you will.

Because of his acting, personality, and lack of experience compared to Lerman....

I don't see O'Brien as Spidey/Parker and I really don't see him being able to hold his own against RDJ, Ruffalo, Evans, Hemsworth, Jackson, Scarlett.... etc, etc....

And, I don't see him able to hold his own franchise, especially one centered solely around him

My guess is they've already cast the character and keeping it very close to chest. Or they will wait til the last few weeks of filming to cast.
