The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field; the film swings into theatres July 3rd.

That scene where Peter is falling... He has his arms stretched out like he's pretending to fly, just like a kid would. Can't wait for this.

VFX is still "hollow" looking in some areas.
Seeing this midnight, though.

Can't help but feel that they've released too much footage for this movie. Anybody else feel the same way?

I am not very excited for this one, personally I feel like they keep recycling the same footage for all of their trailers and ads.

Man they should stop with the viral marketing and TV Spots/Trailers/Previews already. I'm too hyped for this already and every new picture/video hypes me even more.

No idea how I survive the last few weeks, the game will surely help me surviving the last week.

One complainant about this movie:

The rumor that Peter becomes Spider-Man by his father's design. I don't want to see the same exact origin as last time but part of the appeal of spider-man is that he is an everyday guy who got remarkable powers by pure accident. I really hope both rumors from that site are false (this, and that sony hates the movie.)

Im sold on this movie. Never been as excited for a movie in a long time, but if this is true, it could really could harm my appreciation for this movie.

They really had to change the car thief scene, it looks and sounds shit. Everything else fits and I hope there isnt a big happy end.

@Tajin88 Well, Captain Stacy is going to die, Gwen breaks up with Peter, so I guess I will not be a happy ending.

RidiculousFanBoyDemands, because the majority is the same, except for a couple of extra scenes...hence the "extended" part.

yeah IM53, I re watched it again. It's all for the best I suppose, don't want to be too spoiled. It's almost time to go dark so this movie and TDKR don't get spoiled for me

so i think in this version of spidey, it will never be an accident that he'll get bitten by a spider-instead everything is planned by his father or osborn or whosoever? nah. i think i'll pass on this one.

Today is my last day of viewing Spider-man videos until the movie comes out. Unless it's an interview about the actors' process, or maybe a special on how some of the stunts were done... Same goes for TDKR.

I agree that some of the CGI looks dodgy, like when Peter jumps off the top of the building in his civilian clothes, but I'm also starting to see the benefit of using so much practical effects footage. Overall, I'm really impressed with the visual aesthetic in this film, and Webb's use of colors.

I really do enjoy that there are a lot of scenes where Peter is testing his abilities as Peter Parker. A lot of people appreciate the hard distinction between the character's two personas (and even fear that Webb won't respect the secret identity aspect of the mythos), but in the comics 50 years there has also been emphasis how one area of his life will bleed into the other and screw things up. I've always found that to be really interesting, so I hope to get a good taste of that in this movie. Hopefully, if it is in there, it won't come at the cost of mistreating the secret identity aspect.
