Could We See Liz Allan Suit As Firestar In The SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel?

Those of you familiar with Liz Allan will know she has a storied history in the comic books and Spider-Man: Homecoming star Laura Harrier talks here about the possibility of suiting up as Firestar...

Spider-Man: Homecoming looks set to introduce a lot of familiar faces from the wall-crawler's world, but it's Liz Allan who looks set to be the hero's main love interest in the movie. That's just like in the comic books and is a big departure from the focus that previous instalments of the franchise have put on the likes of Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy. What's in store for Liz remains to be seen, but actress Laura Harrier hopes that she'll be able to suit up as the heroic Firestar in the sequel.

"I hope Liz gets powers, because that’s what happens in the comics," she tells Screen Rant. "She becomes like Firestar, and she can like light things on fire." The character made her first appearance in the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends animated series back in 1981, but it was Angelica Jones in the costume. However, in the Ultimate Universe, Liz became Firestar after her mutant powers kicked in during an encounter with the Human Torch. That could complicate things somewhat, of course.

Fox owns the rights to mutant characters, but if Sony can use Liz, surely Marvel might be able to have her show up as Firestar minus her mutant origin story. The fact Harrier wants this to happen doesn't mean it will, but it would certainly be an interesting direction to take things in. We'll just have to wait and see, but let us know your thoughts on the Spider-Man: Homecoming star's comments below.

Wonder if she'll get involved with the Osborns in the future because I recall that was a thing.

@MafiaBillCipher - Sure. It's just that the new leaked spoilers did make me less enthusiastic for the new Spidey movie. Especially the "ending" and a "twist" that did piss me off as a Spidey fan.

@Batman1991 - do you mean the early reviews? because they didn't spoil anything at all.

If they make a College trilogy for Peter, it would be cool nod to "Spider-Man & Friends" if he went to the college with Firestar and substitute another young hero for Iceman (Human Torch if they ever got back to FF rights)

@Jhuntdaprodigy - Well they don't have Iceman rights either. Maybe Sam Alexander?

No, I want to see the popular Spider-Man supporting characters.

If they can just drop her mutant origin to circumvent Fox, why can't they do that with all their mutant characters? Just say logan was bitten by a radioactive wolverine. Wink, nod. Sure, it's stupid but no one would care if we could get those characters standing side by side (or toe to toe) with our MCU favs.
