SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME: All The Confirmed Details, Rumors, Leaks, and Spoilers You Need To Know

Spider-Man: Far From Home may boast a title as lame as Thor: The Dark World but there's already a lot of excitement surrounding the wall-crawler's second solo adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While shooting is currently ongoing, we don't know a huge number of official details but there are plenty of rumours doing the rounds along with a number of other possible leaks about the movie.

Considering the fact Peter Parker died in Avengers: Infinity War, there's obviously a lot of confusion surrounding the movie and it wouldn't be remotely surprising for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to hold off as long as possible when it comes to shedding any light on what to expect. That sucks, right? Well, it's a good job we've rounded up everything we know about the movie for you right here!

details, simply click the "View List" button to take a look.

Hydro-Man Might Be Making An Appearance

Marvel Studios didn't shy away from reinventing some classic comic book villains in Spider-Man: Homecoming, including The Prowler, Scorpion, and The Tinkerer. Will the sequel do the same? A watery set video has led to speculation that Hydro-Man will be making an appearance and while nothing has been confirmed, it would be a lot of fun to see what the MCU could do with such a villain.

Spider-Man Might Be Heading To The Savage Land

We know that Sony has been interested in the Savage Land for a while; a big chunk of Drew Goddard's Sinister Six was reportedly set to take place there. However, one report claimed that the studio once again started researching the location when work on the sequel began and seeing as we know Peter Parker is going on a "field trip," it's feasible he could later wind up in a version of the Savage Land.

J. B. Smoove May Be Playing J. Jonah Jameson

The sequel has made a lot of very interesting casting additions in recent months but there's one which is definitely worth touching on in greater detail. That is Curb Your Enthusiasm star J. B. Smoove, a charismatic actor whose character hasn't been revealed as of yet. However, rumours are running rampant that J. Jonah Jameson is finally coming to the MCU and Smoove might just be playing him!

We Don't Know When It Takes Place

While we've heard that Spider-Man: Far From Home will pick up shortly after the events of Avengers 4, that leaves Marvel Studios and Sony in a very tricky position when it comes to marketing it. After all, Peter Parker is dead and showing a trailer with him swinging around New York City would essentially spoil Avengers 4. As a result, it's just as likely this sequel is set before the events of Infinity War.

Peter Parker Will Be Wearing His Homecoming Costume

Not buying that last point? Well, here's something which is worth addressing. In various set videos shared by star Tom Holland, he's been decked out in the Spider-Man suit from Homecoming! Why would the wall-crawler choose to wear that over the Iron Spider version and if this movie was set after Avengers 4, wouldn't the youngster have received some sort of upgrade rather than the same old suit?

Spider-Man Meets Spider-Woman

Spider-Man operating in London will reportedly draw the attention of MI6 and it's then that he crosses paths with an agent known as Jessica Drew according to one apparent plot leak. While she obviously won't be Spider-Woman at this stage (and probably won't ever take on that moniker), this would be fun to see. Unfortunately, we haven't heard any casting news for a femme fatale type character!

Quentin Beck's Plan

We know that Mysterio will be Spider-Man: Far From Home's lead villain but what leads to him crossing paths with Peter Parker? Well, one report claims that he'll have stolen something from Stark Industries and with Iron Man either retired or dead, the youngster will take it upon himself to try and track the villain down, hence why he says "yes" to going on this field trip with his fellow school students.

Peter Parker's Love Interest

With Liz Allen now nowhere to be seen, what will become of Peter Parker's love life? Well, the majority of reports, rumours, and leaks we've seen all point to Zendaya's Michelle (a.k.a. "My friends call me 'MJ'") taking on that role. I'm not sure how well that will work and whether this is the MCU's version of Mary Jane Watson but there could be someone else who ends up vying for Peter's affections...

The Majority Of The Action Will Be Set In London

We know that Spider-Man: Far From Home will shoot in a number of countries but the signs are currently pointing to the majority of the action taking place in London. The sequel has been based in the UK for a while now and it was just last week that we saw the cast near the London Bridge, so the wall-crawler is clearly going to swing into action in some very unexpected locales next summer.

Nick Fury And Maria Hill Will Appear

While they may have turned to dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, we did get a glimpse of Nick Fury and Maria Hill working together despite the fact S.H.I.E.L.D.'s time has been and gone. Clearly, their partnership will still be in effect when this movie rolls around and it's feasible that they'll cross paths with the wall-crawler when they decide to track down the villainous Quentin Beck/Mysterio.

We're Going To Meet Gwen Stacy

A number of audition tapes for Spider-Man: Far From Home have done the rounds and while we don't know who will end up playing her, it definitely appears as if we're going to meet a new version of Gwen Stacy in this sequel. The key difference is that she's going to be foreign and someone the wall-crawler presumably meets overseas. Whether or not she'll return with the students to the US isn't clear.

The Stage Is Being Set For The Sinister Six

Marvel is introducing a lot of Spider-Man villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's been said that the reason for that is because the plan is for the wall-crawler to battle the Sinister Six in the currently unannounced third instalment of the franchise. That's long overdue at this point in time and it would definitely make sense to end the trilogy in such an exciting and epic fashion down the line.

Meet Alistair Smythe

Spider-Man has clashed with Alistair Smythe a number of times in the comic books but if one leak is to be believed, he's going to be reimagined on the big screen next year. Apparently, his father Spencer works at Stark Industries (linking him to Beck's mission to steal that tech we mentioned earlier) and Alistair will serve as a rival of sorts to Peter who attempts to turn his fellow students against him.

Michael Mando Will Return As Scorpion...

At the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Mac Gargan made it clear that he wants revenge on the wall-crawler for what happened earlier in the movie and attempted to get the hero's secret identity out of Adrian Toomes. Clearly, he has big plans moving forward and it's been said that Better Call Saul star Michael Mando will end up reprising the role in the sequel to set the stage for Scorpion's debut.

...And Michael Keaton Will Be Back As Vulture

In one of the most exciting pieces of confirmed casting for the sequel, it was revealed not too long ago that Michael Keaton will be making his return as The Vulture. As of right now, he's behind bars and we have no news on what he'll be getting up to here. Is he going to escape with Mysterio's help to get revenge on Peter Parker for messing up his life? That certainly seems like one strong possibility!

Jake Gyllenhaal Is Playing Mysterio

In news first reported by The Sun and later confirmed by the trades, we now know that Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing Quentin Beck, a.k.a. the villainous Mysterio. He's certainly an unorthodox choice for the classic comic book villain and it's going to be a lot of fun seeing how he's been updated for the big screen. One leaker claims that he'll wear the fishbowl helmet but not for a huge chunk of the movie.

The Sequel Will Feature A Gender Non-Conforming Character

Well, this is interesting. Spider-Man: Homecoming featured a very diverse group of high school students but Marvel Studios is reportedly taking that a step further by casting a youngster to play a gender non-conforming character. How significant they will or won't be to the plot is hard to say but it is a step in the right direction for the MCU as Marvel makes good on its promise to increase diversity.

The Title Has Multiple Meanings

Fans have been quick to ridicule the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel's title but according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Far From Home has "multiple meanings." Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to what those might be but it's hard not to wonder if it's some sort of reference to the fact the last time we saw Peter Parker, he was actually millions of miles from home on Titan.

The Costume WILL Undergo Some Changes

While Tom Holland has shown off the Homecoming costume in various set videos, that doesn't necessarily mean he won't receive an upgrade at some point and costume designer Louise Frogley has been quoted as saying that it will definitely undergo some changes as Peter Parker goes from boy to man. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to what that means but it's certainly intriguing.

There's Going To Be A Mysterious Big Bad

This is very much a rumour as of right now but it's said that Mysterio will be working for a mysterious (no pun intended) employer whose identity has yet to be revealed. However, Norman Osborn's name has come up quite a few times but whether or not Marvel really wants to go back down the Oscorp route after it so heavily factored into the last two franchises is hard to say right now in all honesty.

@Nightwing1015 - My #1 choice for him has been Tom Hanks when they cast him, which I really hope they do.

Confirmed details, rumors, leaks, AND spoilers? Four things... Given the writer, how is it this didn't end up as four separate articles?
