Peter Parker Takes His Driving Test In Hilarious SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Audi Commercial

As part of Marvel's partnership with Audi, a commercial has been released which sees Peter Parker take his driving test with an obnoxious instructor... until he has to change into Spider-Man!...

Tom Holland is currently hard at work promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming all over the world but the British actor has still managed to find the time to reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for this Audi commercial. As you can see below, after a disastrous attempt at driving a car in the upcoming movie, the youngster decides to take his test and crosses paths with a very obnoxious instructor.

However, he's soon forced to change into his Spidey duds so that he can swing into action and take down some thugs robbing a bank in true wall-crawler style; does he end up passing his test, though?

Starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., and almost countless others, Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts and will be released on July 7th, this year.

OK, that was amusing.

Also, I'm starting to warm up to that theme now.

@MUTO123 - The theme in the commercial? I don't like it.

@Luminus - it's part of the suite that Giacchino put out a couple days ago. I wasn't crazy about it then, but now seeing it with footage, I'm starting to warm up to it, and I could end up liking it even more in the actual movie. It's cool that you don't like it, though.

@MUTO123 - I hope it works out. The soundtrack for the Amazing Spider-Man ruined it for me. Every time I see the cover on my XBox video library, I remember the music and cringe, which makes me not want to watch the movie.

I really like the Homecoming marketing. I wonder what next is in store in these last two or 2 weeks and a half.

All this talk about Sony and Spider-Man makes me nervous about this movie... I mean, I liked the first two but three was just awful and the latest two were lacking something indefinably Spider-Man. I'm sure it will at least meet my expectations but knowing what Sony had planned prior to this and the will they/won't they with other characters involvement in the MCU is concerning.

@ChiliConCarney - I wonder, if it sucks will the mcu cut ties with Sony and spider-man all together? Is that even possible at this point?
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 6/20/2017, 6:30 AM
@OozyOrifice - If it sucks, then it will be Feige's mess as much as anyone's. And Feige will do anything within reason to keep the deal going because Spidey is the Marvel mascot and it's something the fans (generally) want to see.

But who knows what Sony will do on any given day. Tomorrow, Amy Pascal could say that Homecoming doesn't take place in the MCU at all, but rather is the first movie in the Sony Cinematic Multiverse with the next one being a crossover with 21 Jump Street.

@Spock0Clock - yeah, it's probably to late to just ignore spider-man like he never existed in the mcu. I don't think this movie will suck, there is just too much at stake. If it dies they will probably just do some serious behind-the-scenes damage control.

But yeah, looking forward to that jump street crossover xD

not sure about Spiderman selling all the products now but at least it was amusing. somehow i was reminded about this documentary. i think they mentioned Iron Man part one in this one.

irony is that this documentary came from SonyClassics

@jerryblake - that is incredibly ironic. Sony pretty much leads the industry in blatant product placement. It almost seems like they were unaware of what the content of this doc was.

@jerryblake - As long as they aren't blatant in the movie itself I'm fine with it. Superheroes have been used to market products since their inception, so just keep in outside the film or at the very least slyly placed and non intrusive.

Fun little commercial. Interesting that they've got Holland's face all over these tie-ins with minimal Spider-Man/mask. Compared to stuff like Fox using different actors and CG to do Hardy's commercials and whatnot. This is very much "Peter Parker sells a car" and uses Peter's context to do it.

I'm a big fan of the old-school shameless Fruit Pie comic ads, so it doesn't bother me per se to see this kind of direct shilling, especially when it doesn't take itself too seriously. As long as it doesn't get too tasteless or whorey. Something about those DOFP Hardy's ads did rub me the wrong way, though now I'm not sure I can put it into words.

@Spock0Clock - sony's marketing department are terrible with trailers but they're very creative with other things like pizza deals and other random things

That was pretty damn entertaining, and even without it being Spider-man, JB Smooth and Tom Holland get great mileage out of doing a driver's test in an Audi... clever concept for a car commercial.
