SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Blu-ray Featurette Details Michael Keaton's Vulture Casting Process

With Spider-Man: Homecoming arriving on Digital HD on Tuesday, Marvel Studios & Sony Pictures have released a new featurette, detailing the process of casting Michael Keaton as the villainous Vulture!

Spider-Man: Homecoming is the biggest superhero movie of the year, having recently surpassed Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy to become the undisputed worldwide box office champion. This means that for the first time since 2007, a Spider-Man film will end the summer as the numero uno superhero adventure and unless Thor: Ragnarok or Justice League can top its current $863 million plus collection, it has a pretty solid chance at finishing out the calendar year on top of the pack.

As the box office run coming to a close, Sony Pictures has released a brand new Blu-ray featurette from the upcoming home video release, giving us a more detailed explanation of the casting of Michael Keaton as the villainous Vulture, which, if you remember, was not so easy to pull off. Initially, he was reported as being in early talks for the role, but then a few weeks later, it was reported that he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts, which sent everyone spinning. Luckily, it all worked out in the end and Keaton signed on for the Jon Watts-helmed project and ultimately brought to life one of the best villains the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen.

Check out the new featurette below:
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

He was one of the best things about the movie......My favorite Marvel villain so far. And I loved how he went straight gangsta in the car with Peter in the back seat. There's a reason why he pulled out the gun first before he said what he had to say....Keaton is amazing and such an underrated actor,imo....

@DVonShakari - Love Keaton but under rated? We're in the middle of the Keaton Renaissance here. He's in everything the past few years and has multiple oscar nominations.

@MrDandy - Yeah..underrated.....I did say that was my opinion. But I remember when he wasn't in anything for a while with no major projects. My assessment of Keaton goes back to his days in comedic roles up until now and not just the past few years. He's one of my favorite actors.

@MrDandy - oh snap I got another good one for you....I'm also a huge fan of Sam Rockwell. He's also underrated to me....and I think his character in IM2 was a hilarious take on an "un-cool" Tony Stark....That little dance he did at the Stark Expo as he's coming on stage had me cracking up

@DVonShakari - Now Sam Rockwell IS an underrated actor. I haven't seen him in a movie in a long time. He's amazing in Moon. Check that out if you haven't already.

They turned this geezer...

Into one of the coolest comic book movie villains to date. Bravo Keaton. They should just look for another C-List Spidey villain for the sequel, and upgrade him.
