SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Director Jon Watts Has Been Confirmed To Return To Helm The Sequel
Last we heard, Jon Watts hadn't officially signed on to helm the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, but now Kevin Feige has reportedly confirmed the director's involvement while speaking at CCXP...
We brought you the spectacular first trailer for the upcoming animated Spider-Man movie earlier today, and now we have an update on the Webhead's live-action adventures.
Although most of us assumed it was a foregone conclusion that Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts would be back to helm the sequel, last we heard he hadn't actually signed on the dotted line yet. However, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has now confirmed that Watts would indeed return to guide Tom Holland's Peter Parker on his next solo big-screen outing.
We don't have a direct quote from Feige, but several Tweets such as this one from people in attendance at Comic-con Experience Brazil have been sent out:
The translations reads: “Kevin Feige just confirmed in a video screened on the Marvel panel at #CCXP17 that Jon Watts will be the director of the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
Again, this won't be a huge surprise to anyone, but it's nice to finally have confirmation.
Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is set to swing into theaters in July of next year.
