A Japanese version of the most recent trailer for Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has been shared online, and it contains a few intriguing new shots from the animated sequel.
Perhaps most interestingly, we get another look at Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, in action, with Spider-Gwen referring to him as a "ninja vampire."
Though O'Hara isn't an actual vampire in the comics, his mutation did give him venomous fangs and claws. Will Across the Spider-Verse take the character in a slightly darker direction?
We also see a little more of the villainous Spot facing-off against Miles and Gwen right at the end.
An updated theater listing for Across the Spider-Verse seemingly confirms a run-time of 2 hours, 20 minutes, which would make the sequel one of the longest animated features of all time.
In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
The confirmed voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Brian Tyree Henry.
