MORBIUS Featurette Teases The Multiverse's Impact On The Living Vampire's Big Screen Debut

Sony Pictures has dropped a new featurette for Morbius that continues to tease the Living Vampire's place in the Marvel Multiverse following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Trailers have indicated that this movie will connect to the MCU, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man franchise, and The Amazing Spider-Man series. While there's been speculation in recent days that most of those teases have been cut, the studio still seems to be hinting that Morbius is going to be a key part of whatever this live-action Spider-Verse is.

Once upon a time, it looked like Tom Holland's Peter Parker would be part of two worlds, but Spider-Man: No Way Home didn't set anything up, and if those plans changed, Morbius probably did as well.

"In the film version of Morbius, he's part of a much larger universe," Leto teases in the video below. "The multiverse has officially opened and there's all kinds of opportunities for villains to meet up." There's also a pretty direct reference to Venom, so if nothing else, it's safe to assume this character exists in the same reality Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock currently calls home.

"One of Marvel's most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius," reads the synopsis. "Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While it seems to be a success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil - or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious urges?"

The cast of Morbius also includes, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, , and Tyrese Gibson. After a number of delays, the movie finally arrives in UK cinemas on March 31 and in the U.S. on April 1.

@Blergh - Yes for Andrew in a minor role, but nothing major.
And it should be his last.

As much as I don't like Jared Leto and as much as I never really cared for Morbius as a character, I can't get over the feeling like this is actually the perfect comic book movie pairing for each other. It's like when you know two messed up people who start dating and their character flaws mesh well together to create an undeniably strong couple.

"Neither one of them can do better than this."

It was right on the tip of my brain, and that's the feeling. It doesn't mean it's good, but couldn't be better.

@Spock0Clock - I wonder which will be the tone for Kraven and Madame Web, Sony could be setting up universe where every movie is a different genre (Venom movies are comedies, Morbius movies are dark toned, etc).

I wonder how BO is going to look like for this movie. Sony has thrown enough money at marketing for this movie to (probably) not flop but I can’t see it making Venom money.

@MeAreLegend - Sony probably had one of their best years in their history with Venom 2 and NWH...however, Sonic 2 is gonna destroy this movie on its second weekend...

Every universe has a Spiderman, but since Eddie seemed to never heard of a Peter Parker or a Spiderman...who is the Spiderman in the SMU? These movies might be good, they might might make money, but they need a Spider...something...either Gwen, Miles, or a new Peter (Garfield is too old, sorry), but they need to pull their shit together...plus, it seems the negotiations with Holland went cold, so...perfect oportunity to introduce a Spider-person that isnt Peter...people love Miles, come on.

Teases the multiverse? I’m betting this movie shows nothing to do with a multiverse. I bet 1 billion doll hairs.

I usually get a little something after watching a trailer for the first time. Especially when watching it on a giant theater screen. I actually first saw this trailer on a theater screen... Nothing. It could be amazing. But I have no real interest.
