MORBIUS Star Jared Leto Says Facing Mahershala Ali's BLADE Would Be "Fascinating" (Exclusive)

Mahershala Ali's Blade made his (off-screen) MCU debut in Eternals, and Morbius star Jared Leto has admitted he's intrigued by the prospect of his Living Vampire squaring off with the vampire hunter...

As we head deeper into Marvel Studios' Phase 4, it's become clear that the MCU is about to embrace the supernatural in a big way. Moon Knight and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness certainly appear to be heading down that route, though we got a taste of it in Eternals' post-credits scene.

There, Kit Harington's Dane Whitman prepared himself to unleash the power of the Ebony Blade before a voice heard off-screen warned him against doing so. We'd later learn that was Mahershala Ali's Blade in a scene that marked the vampire hunter's MCU debut ahead of his planned solo outing.

Needless to say, we can't wait to see what the future holds in store for Blade. Could that include a battle with Morbius? Jared Leto has previously expressed interest in the idea his Living Vampire could cross paths with the character, and while it's unlikely when the two anti-heroes exist in separate worlds, we can't help but think it would be cool to see the Oscar-winner clash with Mahershala Ali.

Talking in the video above, Leto once again shared his interest in pitting Morbius against Blade. "That would be a pretty fascinating experience," he admits. "I’d love to get in the ring with him."

Short of Marvel Studios doing some sort of deal with Sony Pictures to bring some of their non-Spider-Man characters into the MCU alongside the web-slinger, we don't bank of this meeting taking place. However, the Multiverse means we never know what could happen in future movies and it would be something of a missed opportunity not to do something with the Living Vampire and the Daywalker.

There are heaps of other foes for Morbius to face, but we'll have to see what happens in that movie before pondering the anti-hero's future too much. Stay tuned for more on that as we have it!

Morbius will be released in cinemas on March 31.

I mean... I would like to see Blade meet Morbius, just not Leto's Morbius.

I wouldn’t actually mind, but all this multiverse shenanigans kinda kills of any excitement I would have for both versions of these characters to meet

I actually wanted to see more of his Joker, and I don't get people who judge based on 5 minutes of screen time.

And he seems to fit Morbius too.

I'm just a bit afraid, because Let There Be Carnage really lowered my expectations for any Sony movie.

Venom (2018) was pretty good tho.

They're both Oscar Winners... In fact, Mahershala has two.

I wouldn’t mind Leto and Ali clashing but not sure this version is the way to go. Still hope that MCU vampires are mostly normal looking because the CGI on Morbius here looks pretty disappointing overall.

Sure think CG can be perfectly used to enhance vampiric looks (glowing eyes, pale shade, umhuman features) but what I’ve seen of the movie so far is quite the bummer

The MCU or SONY-CU should not have vampires. They have already introduced a multiverse and cosmic threats. The supernatural angle is moving the universe in yet another direction (Yeah I know ... Dr. Strange and Wanda) that is just going to alienate people.

Kevin Feige: "lol, no"

Anyway, Sony should call Wesley Snipes to play a "vampire hunter" (dont name him) in a potential Morbius sequel.
