Sony Pictures will hold hold their SDCC panel shortly, where a new trailer for Venom is expected to debut. We're still not sure if any of the other Spidey spin-offs currently in the works will be touched upon, but we have some new details on the Morbius the Living Vampire movie for you guys right here.

According to That Hashtag Show, Jared Leto's blood-ducking antihero will be joined by two other main characters who will likely serve as the film's antagonist and female lead.

The first is a villain who "was once a friend", and the studio is said to be "auditioning males, 30-40 years old for the role with actors Riz Ahmed and Rami Malek held in mind as prototypes for the role." This is almost certainly Emil Nikos, Morbius’ friend and partner from the comics who was also his first victim.

The female lead, meanwhile, is described as an “intelligent, cutthroat businesswoman.” Hardly a lot to go on, but THS speculate that it might be Morbius' one-time fiancee Martine Bancroft, who became s vampire herself in the comics.

There's a chance we might find out more on this during the panel, but in the meantime let us know what you think of these character breakdowns in the comments below.

@JK2point0 - Judging from the outfit Morbius is wearing, I suspect it's Valentine De Landro's art from Morbius: The Living Vampire: The Man Called Morbius (Marvel Now) Paperback – December 10, 2013

@KiwiKid - THS have been spot on with many scoops and character breakdowns in the past. They're certainly right more than they're wrong.

I have a feeling that sony is capitalizing all of these characters and then is gonna bring spidey in right as their deal with marvel expires

Thus spidey will be referenced but not actually shown... but who knows,I could be giving sony more credit than is due

@Menks123 - Rumors back when it was filming were that Tom Holland was on-set for two separate days of filming. Word was that he filmed a scene where Peter was interviewing for an internship/job at the same newspaper Hardy's Brock works for in the Venom film.

Not saying it's true, but I've heard word of this dating to a few months back.

@L0RDbuckethead - Yeah, I remember hearing about that too. Would be fricking great, but idk if it would mean anything in the MCU or just...Holland playing two different Spideys lmao.

@Menks123 - I feel that if it does happen, they could leave the scene ambiguous enough to have the door open to the "two different Spideys" approach, or some kind of multiple realities/universes.

Hmmm interesting. Not really what I would have thought as far as a villain, but hey if it works it works. Got my fingers crossed big time for this and Venom

All for Venom and Silver and Black, but this one is a stupid idea. For one, Jared Leto is [frick]ing terrible. And second, this character seems lame. Alright as a minor villain maybe but who wants to follow a main hero named ‘Morbius’? Living vampire, [frick] off with that shit, vampires are vampires because they DEAD.

I think if these films are successful and the Sony/Marvel deal comes to an end, they will recast the role of Peter Parker to someone a bit older.

@RorMachine uh oh you had a typo and said blood-ducking instead of blood-sucking, looks like your article needs to be “completely rewritten”
