The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to hit theatres on July 3rd, 2012.

I'm really having difficulty believing the reports that Sony executives hate this movie, because everything I've seen from it so far has been fantastic.
This should be enough to tide me over until the trailer this Thursday, which will hopefully give us a definitive peak at the true quality of the movie.

He looks great as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. They said they were going for an "Ultimate Spider-Man sort of look." July 3rd really can't get here fast enough.

"too skinny to play spiderman" wtf?? Have you ever read any comics? Spidey/Parker was designed to be a TINY,SKINNY,WIMPY nerd who gets the chance to right wrongs through his spider powers. There are no buff spiders, they are thin wiry creatures. I thought Toby was too big AND to old to play Parker. This kid, physically, looks spot on.

I am getting tired of the No Mask problem though, he isnt gonna have his "secret" identity for long if he keeps this up through the whole flick

In all honesty, though, that's one of those hairstyles that is going to look absolutely ridiculous and dated in the future. I'll be as bad as if Spidey had muttonchops or something.

Cool.

Spider-man (to Stan Lee): "Is there any books about big evil lizards attacking superheros?"
Stan Lee: "Yep Right here."

Spider-man: "Right!?!? Now what am I supposed to do?"
Stan Lee: "Duh. Make something to turn him back into Connors!"
Spider-man: "Right, thanks what's your name again?"
Stan Lee: "Stan-The-Man-Lee."
Spider-man: "Awesome."

Just looked at shots of Raimi's Spider-Man costume and the new one. I will stop complaining now. I would prefer if they took this costume and had the red and blue in teh same places as the comic, but overall this one is league's better. The colors are better, the silver webbing is gone and I like the material better. Only thing is, I hope they CGI out any silver tennis shoes. Hopefully they are only used for the sake of Garfield's feet and the stunt men's feet.
