Earlier this month, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige used the Spider-Man: No Way Home press junket as an opportunity to confirm that should Daredevil debut in the MCU, he'll be played by Charlie Cox. The actor starred as the Man Without Fear to great acclaim in Marvel Television's Netflix series, so this decision was fully embraced by fans (especially those who campaigned to #SaveDaredevil).
Did you think the timing of Feige's comments were coincidental? Guess again. As the rumors suggested, Cox returns as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home for one memorable scene.
Revealed as Peter Parker's lawyer, Matt explains to the teenager that while he's no longer facing criminal charges, the court of public opinion awaits. This takes place in May and Peter's apartment, and also features Matt explaining to Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan that he could be facing big problems for taking tech from Stark Industries in the midst of Damage Control's investigations. The fun thing about that, of course, is that Favreau played Foggy Nelson in 2003's Daredevil film.
When a Mysterio supporter throws a brick through the window, Matt catches it before Peter can react. The web-slinger wonders aloud how his blind lawyer managed such a feat and he issues a perfect response: "I'm a very good lawyer." That's it for Matt, unfortunately, and we don't ever get to see him suit up.
However, now he's officially part of the MCU, you have to believe Daredevil will return sooner rather than later!
