Is it just me or were Tobey and Andrew's suit not of the same quality compared to their movies.

Maybe it was the way they were lit compared to their movies or the shape they were in

@dracula - it's just you. They looked fine. Just look at the BTS footage with the three of them.

@dracula - id say it's a physical thing on the actors. These two aren't in the same shape they were in years ago, and they weren't given nearly enough time to get to that shape. So these suits meant to show more of their bodies wasn't gonna make it look as good as it would've been in their respective primes.

@dracula - Tobeys suit was a little worse. There are shots where you can see the webbing isn't raised. Which was probably done for budget reasons

@dracula - It was 100% the lighting. The MCU tends to use flatter lighting in most scenes (digitally enhancing in post), and they'll give more depth to some of the inter-personal scenes. They also use different cameras than what Raimi used.

Marvel has had this issue since around Iron Man 3. They've gotten better in some regards, but they still try and do all the lighting in post production, because it's cheaper.

Tobey's lenses were also different.

@dracula - Not just you at all. These movies have a very bland visual aesthetic and it translates when you see something like those characters who, love or hate their films, each had a degree of artistic flair which was unique to them.

@dracula - I've seen some comparison shots and they added an extra line of webbing on the mask that wasn't in the original.

@dracula - to be honest I was convinced that the suits were 100% CG and never real in the film...

@micvalpro - @micvalpro - Are you talking about the photos. If so, what CGI and webbing?

As satisfied as I was with the film despite the gripes, I still feel as though we need a Spider-Verse crossover. Whether that’s live action into animated or animated into live action. Ideally a mix of both to give us the live action actors in their own animated style and then the animated characters in live action. Don’t necessarily have to see Shameik, Hailee or Jake, but it’d be dope as [frick].
