Since Tobey and Sam are leaving the first 'Spider-Man' franchise behind them rumors have surfaced that Robert Pattinson is going to be leaving the 'Twilight' franchise to reboot the 'Spider-Man' franchise.

Most of us knew this was not going to happen. Here is confirmation.

Sony/Columbia has denied the Robert Pattinson rumor and told ET, "Our first step is to find a director."

There you go. Fine with me. Pattinson does not look much like Peter Parker in the first place.

There was the fact that he also looks too old to be in high school. McGuire could pull it off in the first movie but not Pattinson.

exactly. and john malkovich said he was cast as vulture, then 2 hours later the whole movie was scrapped for a reboot. fck sony and i wont believe anything about this movie until i see it on celluloid.

As much as I love Spidey, I will not spend money to see that particular actor portray my favorite marvel character. I have nothing against him personally, of course, I just can not see anything at all about him that makes him such a hit. I was happy with the first round of spidey movies and while I had my disappointments (as did most of us) I thought Tobey did a good job at bringing spidey and peter to life. Of course this is before the impressions of a geek trying to play a geek trying to be a bad boy... But, that's been beat to death!

I'm not surprised at all, I won't believe ANYTHING I hear about Spider-man until the first trailer.

but you know, I'm as big a Twilight hater as anyone, but I don't hold a grudge against Pattinson, I think he's very talented and I actually feel bad for him, he had no idea what mindless crap he was getting into when he agreed to do Twilight, he's even publicly spoken out against Stephanie Meyer and her mindless fandom

Zac Effron is way cute to be Peter Parker. I do love Peter, but he's the average plain looking guy. He's not supposed to be ugly, maybe he can be cute, but not in Effron's level. No way.
