Sam Raimi's Evil Dead is a cult classic, so the news that it is being remade by Fede Alvarez has been met with a great deal of trepidation from fans. However, Raimi is seemingly very happy with how the film is coming along, telling MTV News that it is very much its own thing and, "really gut-wrenching, real low budget and intense." Oh, and Ash? He most definitely won't have any sort of role in this one despite speculation. Meanwhile, in another interview with the site, he reveals that he has yet to see The Amazing Spider-Man, but has a great deal of respect for director Marc Webb. "I have not seen it yet but I hear it's great. It's not weird at all. I've spoken to him a number of times. I've run into him. We've commiserated together. I like him very much. I respect him as a filmmaker and I think the movie is going to be great." Unfortunately, if you live outside of the US, you won't be able to watch either of the interviews and MTV News hasn't provided a full transcription for them!
