Super Review Spiderman 3

The trailer for SM3 made it look like a great superhero drama. Sadly that's not true.

Spiderman 3 has the stigma of being a terrible CBM. That's too harsh a term for the CBM. There a 3 reasons why I love this movie.
1:Great fight scenes.
2:Venom
3:Mary Jane gets what's coming to her.

The biggest problem this movie has is it focuses on ths wrong characters. The whole Spiderman trilogy is about Peter, Harry and Mary Jane. So we all knew Harry was gonna go bad in this one, after that cliffhanger from Spiderman 2. But Harry isn't the main villain. After he attacks Peter he hits his head on a air conditioner. At least I think that's what it was and losses his memory. Now supposedly he's perfected the Goblin formula. So how could that cause him to lose his memory if he should have super strength? The main villain is Sandman, which is disappointing because there was no need for him in the story. Raimi wanted him in the movie because he thoughf he'd look cool. Not a good enough excuse. He makes Sandman the real killer of Uncle Ben,which I'm sure threw all of us off. "What?" Its hard to understand Peters circumstances when we're questioning the makers for this decision. But Raimi does use the source material for Sandman in a way. He makes him a sympathetic villain. In the comics he becomes friends with The Thing and talks about giving up crime. But anyway, he commits crimes because he has a sick daughter. Fine, but why can't he get a job? He really just provides Peter with a reason to kill someone. Sadly though Raimi gives up part of what made the 1st movie good to do so.

The movie is really about Peter facing his evil within, and learning forgiveness. But the movie still could have done that without Sandman. And the stakes would have been higher if Harry was allowed to go all out. I would go on, about what Harry could have done and what I feel Peter's response would have been but that's FAN FIC.

One of the best scenes for me is when Harry gets his memory back. But he remembers Peter laughing after he asks if his father died.
"My father,he died right?"
"YEAH!" Still makes me laugh to this day. That's what he remembers, not Peter and MJ nodding their heads?

I think the main reason I was so mad at this movie was how Venom was treated. He's my favorite Spiderman villain so I was hoping Raimi would do him justice. But no such luck. We see a skinny Eddie Brock who's "in love with Gwen Stacy" and goes to a Church and asks God to kill Peter Parker. While it is amusing to watch,it doesn't fit the character. THAT HURTS RAIMI! What's worse is we get a skinny Venom. Venom should have been buff, that's how he was originally intended. And we get no time to see how he knows all the things about Peter. He calls him "Tiger" how does he know that's Peter's nickname. We fans know that the symbiote gave him that knowledge and all of Spiderman's powers, but how is the audience suppose to know? We get no indication wether the symbiote has its own intelligence or not. These to me are the movies biggest flaws.

What got real annoying after a while was Mary Jane. Kirsten Dunst almost killed that character for me. If I wasn't introduced to her before these movies...I don't even wanna think about it. But I feel Raimi did us a solid. I would never condone a guy hitting a women but seeing Peter slap MJ I can watch over and over again.

The black suit looked cool though. I like how "bad" Peter became. I know some of you hated it, but lets be real, Peter became a nerd who thought he was cool. If that's not bad then.what is? He was more arrogant, illustrated in how he exposed Brock. Then Brock goes to a Church. I loved seeing Venom on screen even if it was for a short time. I'm glad Raimi, at least chose to use the loud noise method to hurt the symbiote. Seeing Dr.Connors study it with Peter is cool. The audience gets some idea of what it is. That sad scene with Sandman forming himself is really cool. I like that Peter threw that bomb in Harry's face. After trying to convince him that he didn't kill his father he deserved it. At least ask the guy why. The ending sequence is sooooo fun to watch. Jameson always swindled Peter, but this time the tables tuened. Seeing Harry and Peter team up at the end I'll always remember. And seeing Harry die really marked the end for this trilogy. Venom looked awesome. I loved how he moved, and lunged and would scream. Hearing him laugh when Sandman's pounding Spiderman,so classic Venom. I liked that it was hard for Spiderman to break Venom's webs. One of the main reasons I really care for this movie is when seeing Spiderman fight in the last fight scene it felt to me like he was fighting for forgiveness,of all the wrong things he did. And having Harry die is the punishment for Peter's crimes. Jameson was still funny, and that little scene witn Peter and Betty always leaves me wanting more of them. I bet she'd be a better girlfriend then MJ. It didn't bother me that the climax involved her kidnapped. I just wish we knew how Venom knew her connection to Spiderman.

Spiderman 3 is a movie you'll like or you won't. I like it. There's good acting save for Maguire's crying. The special effects are realistic. And again the fights....uhg just EPIC!!! I'm glad a reboot is getting done. Hopefully what was missed here will be made well in this new trilogy.

I believe they choose to use sandman in this film because they wanted to give Peter another reason to be angry. Brock knew that Peter was Spider-man, but I'm not sure if Brock ever saw Peter with MJ. I really liked the fight scenes in this movie because most of the scenes did show the theme of the movie which was hate, anger, revenge, and pain. I liked spider-man 3 because I thought it was more entertaining than most of the other CBM films, I just wish it didn't have most of the cheesy parts that it did.
