We recently learned that Spider-Man 2 will be centre stage at this month's San Diego Comic-Con, a strong indication a new trailer is right around the corner.
In the meantime, Hot Toys has released two new figures (via GameFragger.com) based on the video game sequel's Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Both will don slightly modified costumes, with Peter set to unleash four new mechanic arms. As for Miles, outside of a few small tweaks, he very much looks the same, though we'd argue there was no real need to make any sweeping changes.
Why is Peter making use of four new Iron Spider-style arms? It's thought that those are meant to serve as a replacement once he rids himself of the extra powers provided by the Venom Symbiote. Regardless, they look mighty formidable and go nicely with the Advanced Suit.
Oh, and while we do see part of Venom here, that appears to have been included as a means of recreating Spider-Man 2's cover art when these two figures are posed together!
With any luck, Hot Toys is working on 1/6th scale replicas of the Black Suit Spider-Man and Venom. Both of these will be extremely limited, however, so when they're gone, they're gone for good.
The synopsis for the game reads, "Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, return for an exciting new adventure in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise."
"Swing, jump and utilise the new Web Wings to travel across Marvel’s New York, quickly switching between Peter Parker and Miles Morales to experience different stories and epic new powers, as the iconic villain Venom threatens to destroy their lives, their city and the ones they love."
Spider-Man 2 swings into stores on October 20.
