Access Hollywood reporter Scott Mantz had a chance to speak to Stan Lee at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. See what he has to say about the upcoming film,
The Amazing Spider-Man and its lead, Andrew Garfield.
“I am Tobey Maguire’s biggest fan. He’s talented, he’s the nicest guy in the world, nobody could have done a better job on ‘Spider-Man’ than he did,”
“But, Andrew Garfield brings his own charisma to this role and he’s as good as Tobey was. I think people are going to love him.”
Although just as good, Stan ensures us that it is a very different performance:
“He doesn’t imitate Tobey, he does his own version of it,” Stan told Scott. “Just as Tobey was the essence of Peter Parker, so is Andrew Garfield.”

The Amazing Spider-Man is set to release this summer on July 3rd.
