THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN issue 007

After swapping his mind into Peter's body, one of Spider-Man's greatest enemies, Doctor Octopus, set out to prove himself the Superior Spider-Man. He also completed Peter's PhD, fell in love with a woman named Anna Maria Marconi, and started his own company, "Parker Industries." But in the end Doc Ock realized that in order to be a true hero, he had to sacrifice himself and give control of Peter's body back to Peter.
Peter recently found out that someone else, Cindy Moon A.K.A. Silk, was bitten by his radioactive Spider giving her similar powers to Peter. And that's not the only thing they have in common.

SPIDER-MAN

ISSUE 007

I have been incredibly excited for this issue ever since I saw it on the Spider-Verse checklist. For those of you who are unaware, a mini series was released called "Edge of Spider-verse" and through that we have been shown snippets of the mass genocide of the Spider-"totems" throughout many Universes and realities, and this issue ties in with the Edge of Spider-Verse series.

With that little piece of background information out of the way, I will jumps straight in to this weeks issue. An obvious sub-plot to this story is Cindy trying to track down her parents and pick up at least some aspect of her life before she was hidden away in the "Bunker", and to be honest I think that that is why Marvel have decided to give her her own series, just so that we are not distracted by her story during Spider-Verse. It appears that Anna maria had found the perfect way to stop Peter and Cindy acting like "Dogs in heat", a water gun. Which to be honest I find quite hilarious considering how she has to do it every ten to twelve minutes. Anna seems to be doing an awful lot for Peter...and I still can't understand why, maybe it's because she's attached to Peters face or some other factor, either way she wants the best for him almost like his Mother. That would explain why she is trying to convince him that his "great responsibility" as Spider-Man doesn't mean "All responsibility". It suddenly hit me, maybe Anna Maria's role now is to replace Aunt May?
First Page & Second Page

Meanwhile a blue criminal is wreaking havoc in New York whilst painting Ms. Marvel in a very bad light, which in turn draws out the New ms. Marvel Kamala. I won't lie to you guys. I know nothing about the new Ms. Marvel..absolutely nothing...but I like her so far. It appears that Marvel is continuing on with their catering to all kinds of people...and at first I was against it but maybe it isn't such a bad thing, it keeps things interesting. First we had Falcon taking over as Captain America, then Thor passing his power on to a woman, and now Kamala Khan is the new Ms. Marvel, and also the first Muslim character to headline her own comicbook.
Third Page & Fourth page

Anna Maria is still begin the Aunt May figure to Peter, giving him a huge Spider-Man life vs Real Life" talk, I don't think she understands that he made the choice a long time ago that Spider-Man was his real life and Peter the costume. She also seems to glorify Otto, although I do agree with her points on Otto having a good balance on things, even hough it did end with the rise of The Goblin King...But thankfully she is proven wrong by Ms. Marvel's little party.
Fifth page & Sixth page

Ms. Marvel is having a not so fun time adjusting to her newly found power, and to fighting an enemy who is more skilled than her. It is clear that the new Ms. Marvel is out of practice, but I have a feeling she will learn quick enough. The enemy she is fighting may be Kree, I say this strictly because Marvel have been doing a lot with the Kree in both their TV series' and Movies.
Seventh Page & Eighth Page

Luckily Spider-Man shows up just in the nick of time to save Ms. Marvel from tough rough a start, and I have to say I love her. She fangirls all over Spider-Man just how an average SpideyFan would...but can you blame her? Even in the eyes of Cable, one day Spider-Man will be regarded as one of the best, if not the best superhero in History. Sadly I don't think Spider-Man is taking this new Ms. Marvel seriously...he of all people should know what it's like to be a new Superhero. Anyway, I am enjoying how Peter is now as Spider-Man, it is kind of like coming back home after a long holiday, it feels strange ta first, but good. Then of course the whole purpose of the whole fight, a blue egg looking thing, which looks like it should be familiar...
ninth Page & Tenth Page

It is confirmed. She is indeed Kree, but I had no idea that the Kree could absorb powers...I thought that it was only the Skrulls...anyway the Kree female reveals her most powerful form, much to Ms. Marvel's and Spider-Man's surprise. But this is where the issue finishes and then switches to the Edge of Spider-Verse tie in with my favourite of the Spider-men,  Spider-UK from the Captain Britain Corp. I won't ruin any of the Spider-Verse things until I do my main review of the series, because let's face it, if you haven't read any of the Edge Of Spider-Verse stuff you are missing out!

Overall View

One thing I must say about this issue it had brilliant artwork, I don't know why, but this is how I prefer my Peter/Spider-Man to be drawn. Now let's jump into more depth ere. I am really loving the relaunched series of The Amazing Spider-Man and I really do hope it continues with this trend of well, epicness. I doubted Dan Slott at first when it cam to Superior Spider-Man, but now it is obvious that Marvel made a great choice in entrusting him with the future of Spider-Man. He has got big plans for Spider-Man and I am incredibly excited to see what they are. Hopefully Spider-Verse is just the tip of the iceberg. I am also loving how they made Spider-Man team up with the new Ms. Marvel, hopefully he will be her mentor, or something along those lines. Because let's face it. She is eager to do good, but maybe too eager. So so far so good for all things Spider-Man. Let's just hope I can keep up . We have just had Edge of Spider-Verse, and I am still collecting Spider-Man 2099, along with all other issues that will be involved in Spider-Verse.
