AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 New "Rise Of Electro" Trailer

Sony Pictures has just released a brand new international trailer for Marc Webb's upcoming comic book movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Hit the jump to check out the "Rise of Electro."

By nailbiter111 - Feb 23, 2014 11:02 PM EST

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Why does the cgi in this flick look so video game-ish? The lightning looks nothing like lightning, the green goblin looks totally cgi while he's flying and the Rhino has missiles and machine guns. Rhino is supposed to be stronger than spider-man that is his threat, not heavy artillery.

Who am I kidding that was awesome. This one looks like a good movie

@Praetorian

the Rhino scene where he grabs the manhole cover looks really bad to me though, but the Web slinging looks on point. I'd assume the Electro effect was intentionally done to distinguish the use of electricity from the familiar lightning elemental attack.

"Stop whining until u see the final product...oh I forgot the internet is full of pussies that determine their view of a film off of the trailer........sad but true."

But isnt the whole purpose of a trailer to make people determine their view of a film before they see the final product?

Remember when I said Max was an angry geek, not some happy goof when people didn't understand his sudden turn to evil?

The guy was seething under the surface at all the injustices and dismissals he faced on a regular basis. He was just powerless to do anything about it so he escaped into a Spiderman hero worship fantasy where they were buddies. The last vestige of any hope he had in humanity died when Spiderman viewed him as a villain.

He didn't suddenly turn angry and vengeful...he was that way the whole time.

Now this looks MUCH better. I'm hoping that the "Goblin" looks better in the final product, than he has in the previous images. Here's to hoping for a great film!!

@Chloefornication

I don't know how much of his social life will be neglected but there does seem to be a lot going on in this movie. I guess we'll see how they balance it out but it had better AT LEAST be 2 hours or more.

I personally don't really want to see Spiderman 2 repeated though.
I don't want to see Peter trying to get the girl all over again.
Been done. We don't need to see him trying to get Gwen, he has her.
We don't need that reestablished that would only waste time.

This is about Peter himself. The story surrounding the mystery of him and his parents connection to Oscorp. This is actually more about him as an individual than anything else.

This isn't going to be a romance story wrapped in a comic book coating.

I guess we'll see how it goes.

Probably this movie will have the best visuals from the year, however, my worries are in the script and the horrendous green goblin
