After filming a few scenes as Mary Jane Watson for
The Amazing Spider-Man sequel, Shailene Woodley was cut from the movie. Director Marc Webb said that this was all down to making the story flow better, and M.J. would return in a future movie -- presumably the threequel, and presumably with Woodley reprising the role. Well, it may not be quite that simple anymore. The
Divergent actress has already said that her commitment to those movies may put a spanner in the works of her returning as M.J., and in the following video interview with Total Film it certainly sounds as if she finds the prospect of starring in two big franchises pretty daunting anyway.
Woodley says she only filmed 3 scenes over 3 days, and it was nothing very "intense", but that she did enjoy working with Andrew Garfield very much. She's then asked outright if she'll be returning to the
TASM franchise.
“I have no idea and I don’t know that I’d even want to do two franchises at this point. Having been through this.” Her
Divergent costar Theo James then takes it upon himself to finish answering Woodley's question. Dude, the lady was speaking!
