THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Star Andrew Garfield Set to Host SNL May 3rd

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters in the U.S. on May 2, and if that's not enough Andrew Garfield for you for one weekend, you can also catch him the following night, May 3rd, as he makes his hosting debut on NBC's long-running Saturday Night Live! Come check it out!

This marks Andrew Garfield's second appearance on the program as he also made a surprise appearance during co-star/girlfriend Emma Stone's monologue in 2011 when they were promoting the first film. You can check out his previous appearance in the clip below, which also features the hilarious Andy Samberg donning the Spidey suit:

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an unspecified role

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.

They're really putting their weight behind this film eh. Don't watch SNL though, don't find it funny at all.

SNL died shortly after Chris Farley died.

Anyways, does anyone else think that when Garfield grows out his beard, it makes him look like a monkey? Just me? Okay.

SNL was funny in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's. The thing is, SNL hires these talented comedic actors who end up having a big break and leave the show.

Once that happens, the show goes down in quality due to losing the actors/actresses that made it so funny in the first place.

@McGee Lol! I could actually do a mean Sean Connery impression.

Very cool. Even if I'm not a fan of Webb's Spider-Man series, Andrew is fantastic in Boy A, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, I'm Here and Never Let Me Go. Everyone should check up on a movie called 99 Homes that will have Spidey AND Man of Steel's Zod in it.

Went on SHH yesterday for first time in a long time and read the Spidey review. I HOPE this is true, but from the writer, Gwen gets all kind of involved in the Spidey action in this latest "Amazing" movie.

REALLY? Oh fcck how this movie gets worse and worse by the day. GWEN being central or even involved for that matter in Spider-man's success on a physical level? What is it with these CBM's shoehorning everyday women 'hero's' and making them much more qualified then they should be (Pepper, Black Widow to a slightly lesser extent).

Hate on X-Men and Singer all you want, but that is a true universe with respected women hero's IE; not forced. Why not have a full blown Black Cat in there if you really feel the need to pander to the average female movie watcher?

FOX SUCKS hardest for the FF treatment, but SONY only has Spider-man as a property and they are crushing it badly.

If anyone has seen this movie, and can comment on the level of Gwen's involvement, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

I've always thought if Andrew Garfield would host. His monologue should be he talking and he has 2 annoying people heckling him. And the 2 people are Tobey Maguire and Kristen Dunst.
