Third Theatrical Trailer For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Classified

We just got an exhilarating Super Bowl Spot and an Extended "Enemies Unite" Preview for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which may seem like more than enough, but it looks like Sony has more in store for us as a third trailer for the film has just been classified.

Last week was a big week for Spider-Man fans as Sony Pictures dropped a jaw dropping Super Bowl TV Spot AND an extended "Enemies Unite" preview for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It would've probably been safe to assume that we shouldn't be expecting another trailer for at least a few weeks, but that doesn't seem to be the case as a third trailer for the film has just been classified by the Alberta Film Ratings. The exact day we can expect this trailer is unclear, but it's a pretty safe bet it should arrive within the next 2 weeks. The new trailer clocks in at 2:23.

This trailer is only the latest in a line of expected trailers (Guardians of the Galaxy; Transcendence) set to arrive this week and next. With Sony and Marvel/Disney releasing new footage for their summer releases, it seems like Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past is the only big player left without a recently released trailer.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an unspecified role

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.

Most people only want to see the GOTG trailer. Not that no one likes TASM 2, but we've already seen a trailer for it. Marvel has given us zilch when it comes to GOTG.

Still can't care.

Can't see how I'm not excited for this but was overly excited for the first one where Avengers and TDKR were in the same year :/

Worth noting that sometimes these trailers get rated several weeks before appearing.

I'd bet on this one showing up before Guardians', though.

Sony doing a magnificent job ruining this movie for everyone. Well atleast I get to see the movie for free due to the trailer containing 99% of the footage.

Sony just wants to release the full movie in the form of trailers.

This trailer will probably be end up being a shrunk down version of the "enemies unite" trailer. That will play in front of movies come out in March onwards.

I guess we can see this movie again for the third time. No need to pay when you get trailers like these.

People complain when three trailers are released for a movie yet whine that were not getting enough of GotG footage. We'll probably get 2-3 trailers for GotG before it's release. Remember how many clips we got for iron man 2 and avengers?

It's all marketing. Sony wants this to be a blockbuster hit, you don't have to watch the third trailer if you don't want to. It's geared towards getting people pumped for the movie right before it's release

@GizmoEl

Marvel only releases two trailer for their movies. I expect GOTG to have just two and maybe one or two international trailers that are no different at all.

Third trailer is probably gonna be a condensed sizzle reel since it wasn't released in theaters (right?) hopefully we'll get another scene or two. We haven't gotten a look at Rhino or Gobby properly. There's still plenty of the movie left to be revealed.
Curmudgeon
Curmudgeon - 2/11/2014, 1:51 PM
The trailers have shown us the entire film?

Pity. You'd think Paul Giamatti would have gotten at least one line of dialogue, and that Felicity Jones wouldn't have been cut out entirely...

Anyone know the song that plays during the scene of Electro in Time Square?...there seems to be some whispering and chanting in it
XelCorp

They must be planning on showing a lot of new footage.. If they re-use a lot of the footage from previous trailers to put in this one.. Then that's a pretty dumb and pointless move.. It would be a waste of a trailer just rehashing used footage, like why?

Lool I think Singer is too [Frick]ing scared to even show DOFP, like where the [Frick] is the second trailer? Fox better get their shit together
SauronsBANE
SauronsBANE - 2/11/2014, 2:20 PM
No more trailers! Just based on my firsthand account, it seems like DOFP and GOTG are much more anticipated than TASM 2 at the moment. Why? Because we're chomping at the bit for more footage of those movies. With TASM 2, I mean, how many trailers do we have for it already? There's such a thing as too much of a good thing. Withholding trailers sucks for us fans, but it's a fantastic tool in marketing. And most studios are terrible at marketing. Less is more.

I don't usually comment, I just read and then go on with my day, but it is really starting to bother me how everyone thinks with a combined about 4.30 of different footage that doesn't repeat itself in other trailers that they have seen 99% of the movie. I can't help but remember the last batch of trailers for asm1 and then the countless, countless clips and trailers for avengers, of which I watched all I could. Went to see the movie then came out amazed how there was so much more that I thought just because of the trailer. Hell avengers and ASM didn't even use all of the scenes in the trailers. Remember the past and that there is more reason not to think you've seen it all than there is to think you have.
