Here is an excerpt from the Daily Bugler website about the events that happened in Amazing Spider-Man and what is going on in the new movie.

NEW YORK - With fallout from the attack of the Lizard and the unpredictable nature of Spider-Man still pelting City Hall, sources in the Mayor’s office have quietly questioned whether the New York City Police Department is capable of protecting the citizenry from escalating superhuman threats.

The late Captain George Stacy’s Major Crimes Unit had been tasked with the increased activity in organized crime, but off-the-record informants claim that the squad may have to pivot to begin planning for more bizarre terrorist assaults. Detective Stan Carter, acting chief of the MCU, denied the report, stating, “All of our forces remain united and focused on the Russian mob activity in Brooklyn and the growing rumors of a ‘Big Man’ who is trying to consolidate organized crime in Manhattan. That’s the ball George would have wanted us to keep our eye on. All the other science fiction stuff can be left to the tabloids.”

Stacy’s death has also called into question the city’s ability to monitor the research of corporations like Oscorp. Many have wondered how such a disastrous incident could take place at the headquarters of one of the world’s most premiere companies. After all, Oscorp is publicly known for scientific advancement, but the citizens of NY are left asking themselves what goes on behind closed doors…

A spokesperson for Oscorp Industries refused to comment on the record.

A Big man?

A Big Man.... The Only Big man we have heard of was Tombstone from the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series. it Could be Chameleon since he is Russian, trying to consolidate the Russian mob.

Or it could be Fredrick Foswell, the Patch who was called the Big Man in the comics or it could be THE BIG MAN himself The Kingpin! Mr Wilson Fisk. Speculate now, but i know one thing....

IT JUST GOT REAL

"Its not kingpin because kingpin with daredevil and that's with marvel unless marvel made a deal with Sony."

Actually, it could very well be Kingpin. Weird thing is, Sony made a deal with Fox that allowed them "loan" Kingpin over to Fox to use in Daredevil. In reality he's part of the Spider-Man rights package and according to Sony, they have him back to use free and clear in Marc Webb's Spider-Man films should they choose to.

You're right about Marvel and Sony having to make a deal though. Unless Kingpin turns out to be one of those "grey area" characters like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Marvel Studios would likely have to come to an arrangement with Sony if they wanted to use Kingpin in a new Daredevil film.

No way, it's Frederick Foswell, who was the Big Man in the comics...sometimes I wonder if ANY of you have ever read a comic book a day in your life...geez...

If not Foswell, then it could be Kingpin. Sony did say before that they owned the rights to Kingpin, and that they loaned him out to Fox when they did the Daredevil movie. They probably still own the character.

L. Thompson Lincoln is Tombstone, not Foswell. Foswell was Patch in the comics.
