A lot of people are unhappy with Electro's design in the upcoming installment in the Spiderman Cinematic Universe titled The Amazing Spiderman 2 mainly because it's "inaccurate." Are these complaints valid? Invalid? Lets find out!

Here are some pictures of Electro's design in the comic books:

VERDICT:

I don't understand all of the complaints of Electro's design being unfaithful to the comic. It looks pretty faithful to me. Now, there are differences of course. Instead of either being green and yellow or simply purple, the suit is black. But is black really that different from purple? As a matter of fact, the lighting in some of the images make to suit look dark purple (or at least parts of it). It's still got the lightning bolt, so no complaint there. Some people have tried to say that Electro isn't blue in the comic, but in reality, his skin tone switches from Caucasian to yellow to blue depending on the comic. He doesn't have any facial scars in the movie. He is bald in the comic. I don't how it's unfaithful.

I've seen some complaints that he doesn't have his original Silver Age design in the film:

I don't know why people would complain about a single costume that Electro has had in the comics. I mean, nobody complained that The Joker resembled the Lee Bermejo design instead of the classic design in The Dark Knight. And that's just one of the many examples I could have gone with. And even if they would have gone with Steve Ditko Electro, I can imagine a lot of people being upset because of how outdated he looks in the film. I see it as a lose/lose situation. Are people just angry that Marvel Studios isn't doing this movie? Is it something else? Your thoughts below.

Welcome, I am Darkknight2149. I am primarily a fan of comic books and their various adaptations, as well as horror and other classic film franchises.

As far as the "DC vs. Marvel" rivalry goes, I'm really not biased when it comes to studios and publishers. Preferences are fine, but I've never understood the basing of opinions purely by the studio/publisher that makes it.
