ComingSoon.net talked to Bryce Dallas Howard about the possibility of her returning as Gwen Stacy in "Spider-Man 4." At this point she is unsure. When asked if her character is currently set to appear, she had this to say:

"Oh goodness! I don't know. I mean, it was really made clear to me when we all did "Spider-Man 3" that it was entirely possible that a character could come back or a character could not and this could be just a specific plotline to that film because there's so many stories in the comic book series and you want to pack as much in as possible so it's truly up to Sam, up to, you know, the writers and the people who have done such an amazing job protecting that franchise and choosing the best storylines for audiences and I'm a fan first. I had an incredible time working with them but more than anything what I want is for that franchise to just continue to kick butt and to really appease the really really really loyal fans, so, including myself."

I think it is best to leave her out of "Spider-Man 4." There is just no real point to using Gwen since the Green Goblin is out of the films and Mary Jane was introduced first. Thoughts?

WELL..SHE IS HOT (but looks better with blonde hair)
anyway,I love gwen stacy..in comics, and HOWARD did
do a great job playing Gwen..But since they should of introduced her in the first film, and MJ in the second,with Doc Ock,
and then have a conflicting relationship with BOTH in spider-man 3..kill off Gwen with the famous green goblin scene(throwing her off the bridge) and Green Goblin kills himself with the glider..after all that.
then we should have spider-man 4

that is how they should of done it

but they didn't soooo I'm not to sure about useing her for the the 4th film..if the story makes sense then use her, or at least explain her away, so it's not just a loose end!

Spidey needs to stay w/MJ...I liked Gwen, but you know if she is in 4, there will be issues w/MJ & then this turns into a chick flick. I agree, much better Blond.

ozymandias,and tyler you are both right.and we need the lizard no crappy vultures. or even bring back doc ock,or venom,. make bruce cambell mysterio,have kraven caseing the lizard and spiderman.or bring in carnage, dang anything but vultures.i for one would love to see more of bryce she was smokin hot.as for felicia have natalie portman,or eliza duco or whatever her name is be heror naomi whatts shes hot.

Spiderman films are getting too screwed up and truncated. AND why do actors now who've played in CBMs say, I'm really a big fan. Yeah, right. They are now that they made double-digit millions and had to read up for the part. Not that many people can be fans. Sorry. They'd be churning out CBMs every month, otherwise.
Spiderman needs to go back burner for a few years and we need to start the franchise over again.

i think MJ shouldve been introduced in the first movie definitely. I mean, everyone knows her. Not many people, besides us comic geeks :), about gwen stacy. I say if she cant b fit into the movie in a non chick flick way, then leave her out.

The movie IMO is going to be terrible anyway, maybe even worse than 3. The vulture isnt a very interesting character and i think that the Lizard wouldve been a great pick. It is Sam Raimi.. and i did have my doubts on Drag Me To Hell and that turned out fantastic. But it seems like Raimi doesnt have control over the film as he did before... i mean according to the article stating the villain will b the vulture, the big wigs didnt want the lizard and Raimi did..

Carnage killed Gwen in the Ultimate Universe. Sure I'm no fan of the ultimate timeline, but they have been using a lot of its material in some of the Marvel films. Like a black Nick Fury in Iron Man.

I thought it was pretty ironic that while Captain Stacy and Gwen were killed by Doc Ock and the Green Goblin, both of those characters died just before their appearances. lol

I really hope the bring back BDH. Just like others I agree Gwen should have been in the first movie, but there is no going back now. Plus this is in an alternate universe, so we get to see what its like if Gwen lived. And yes BDH is very hot. She also seems like a good person.

yeah they screwed this up bad. you would think someone would have told sam raimi that gwen came way before mj! either that or raimi just doesnt care how it went down in the books. in which case he never should have been put in charge of these movies in the first place. would it have been that hard to find someone who knew a thing or two about the actual source material? like oh i dunno... ANY OF US!!!!!!!

this lady has some serious acting chops too, son.

I rented "As You Like It" which was directed by Branagh.
I like the play, but did not care for the movie one bit.

But the shining light of the movie, the only really good thing about, other than the fact that it was Shakespear was the acting. Bryce Dallas Howard absolutely dazzled... shone.. she knocked it out of the park. Howard, a relative newbie just about upstaged giants like Kevin Kline and Brian Blessed. I'll explain it this way... her comfort with all the excessive wordy dialogue was lightning clear. So much so that it was infectious.

Gwen pratically did nothing in part 3. I'm not gonna see 4 anyways and I think they should drop the whole thing.

It's all Raimi's fault!!!

He should've introduced Gwen as the love interest in SM1 and then introduce MJ sometime down the line and then Felicia/Black Cat.

or

He should've used Felicia and her father in SM3 instead of Gwen and her father! Would've made more sense! The whole nightclub scene would've gave Felicia a reason not to like Peter duh!!!

Anywayz get rid of boring Gwen and bring on the BLACK CAT!!!
