It Sounds As If Cara Delevingne's Enchantress Won't Be Back For Warner Bros.' SUICIDE SQUAD Sequel

The Suicide Squad sequel is still trying to lock down a director as reports state that WB wants cameras to start rolling as early as this March. However, one star likely won't be back.

One of the strength's of DC Comics' Task Force X is that the team itself is expendable, seeing that it's made up of the comic universe's worst criminals.  Amanda Waller routinely swaps out its members as her needs require and it's that dynamic which might allow WB to give the film a soft reboot.

It was always probable that some of the film's cast might not return for the sequel and it sounds as if Cara Delevingne's June Moon will be sitting out the second round as she tells USA Today that she’s “pretty sure” she won’t be back.  "It was a life-changing experience and of course I’d do another one, but I don’t think it would make sense for the character.  I’ll probably still be on the set hanging out with everyone."

Back in March, The Legend of Tarzan's  Adam Cozad was hired to pen the script but it was recently announced that Zak Penn was just  brought on a few weeks ago to start from scratch on a new treatment.  There's also the question of who will direct?  Mel Gibson appears to have passed and Jaume Collet-Serra is now the front-runner but there's no deal in place.

Variety recently added that WB wants the film to start shooting as early as March 2018 and just yesterday, the studio snagged two prime 2020 release dates.  Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is set for a Gotham City Sirens spinoff so her inclusion could be in doubt.  Harley's absence would also make Jared Leto's Joker less likely to appear as well.

Hopefully, we'll get some answers to these questions this weekend at SDCC.
