WB Puts The Brakes On GOTHAM CITY SIRENS To Focus On BIRDS OF PREY And THE JOKER Vs. HARLEY QUINN

Warner Bros. is reportedly developing three Harley Quinn-centric projects and David Ayer's Gotham City Sirens isn't among them! A Birds of Prey movie, however, is! Hit the jump for what we know so far...

Well, it looks like Gotham City Sirens is officially dead. According to The Wrap, Warner Bros. is currently developing three different movies starring Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and the David Ayer helmed release is not among them. The first of these is obviously the Suicide Squad sequel, a movie which will start shooting later this year (we actually learned last night that the cast has now started training).

The next project on the horizon is Birds of Prey from Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson. Robbie is reportedly a big fan of the Birds of Prey comic books and it could be where we first meet Batgirl too.

Finally, The Joker vs. Harley Quinn remains in the works. That already has a couple of writers and directors in the form of Focus' Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, two filmmakers Robbie has worked with.

So, exciting times for Harley Quinn fans but not quite so much for David Ayer! While it's possible Gotham City Sirens could happen, it's probably too similar to Birds of Prey so it might be best not to bank on it. What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts down below.

In other words: We don't want to work with Ayer.

@Nightwing1015 - Probably true, but he's also doing Bright 2. But let's be honest. The chances any of these movies actually make it to shooting, is a crap shoot at this point.

@JoeInTheBox - especially The Joker & Harley movie. That absolutely does NOT need to happen.
