BOX OFFICE: SUICIDE SQUAD Shows No Signs Of Slowing Down; Now Sits At $326M+ Globally

After the negative reviews, nobody really expected David Ayer's supervillain team-up flick to have legs, but it's still going strong both domestically and internationally. Click for Wednesday's UPDATES...

Suicide Squad may ultimately feel the effects of its critical mauling, but for now it's shrugging off the bad reviews and luring punters into seats in droves. Our last box office update reported that David Ayer's film was well on its way to passing $300 million worldwide, and it has now done so - breaking a few new records in the process.
Here are the latest figures courtesy of Deadline:

In Brazil, Suicide Squad has passed the entire run of Guardians of the Galaxy after only six days in release there, scooping up $14.9M. With its top offshore market so far being the U.K. with $19.7M, the supervillain pic also pushed over Guardians’ entire gross run in South Korea with $12.1M after only one week in release.

That country has a holiday next weekend with the celebration of its Independence Day on August 15, which might help moviegoing in the territory.

Its No. 2 offshore market is Russia ($14.2M), followed by Mexico ($13.2M), and Australia ($12.3M).

Suicide Squad now sits at around $326.1 million globally, is expected to rake in between $51M-$54M in the US this coming weekend, and will most likely have a very strong showing overseas, too.

Did you catch the movie in theaters? If not, do you intend to at some stage? Drop us a comment below.
