SUICIDE SQUAD Director Shares A New Look At Jared Leto's Joker From A Deleted Scene

Suicide Squad director David Ayer has followed up some never-before-seen pics of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) with a new look at Jared Leto as The Joker in what appears to be a deleted scene from the film.

Director David Ayer has taken to Instagram to share a new shot of Jared Leto as The Joker in Suicide Squad, presumably from one of the many scenes the actor shot which ended up being cut from the movie.

In the pic, The Clown Prince of Crime is holding a gun to Harley Quinn's (Margot Robbie) head. This sequence most likely took place after the helicopter crash, with Joker attempting to force Harley to rejoin him and abandon Task Force X.

If a recent report from THR is to be believed, Leto was not happy about Warner Bros. moving forward with Todd Philips' Joker, and felt "blindsided" by Joaquin Phoenix taking over the role. We don't know for certain if that's the case, but either way, Leto returning as the iconic DC villain seems like a long shot at this stage.

Harley Quinn shouldn't have even been in Suicide Squad, her whole arc with the Joker took the focus away from the actual plot of the movie. They should've just done a straight up adaptation of Trial by Fire.

@soberchimera - Harley Quinn shouldn’t be in Bird of Prey

@zeon00 - Or they should have called it Harley Quinn and The Birds Of Prey, pretty obvious that its mainly a Harley Quinn movie.

@soberchimera - Harley Quinn was basically the only popular character in the film next to Deadshot. Can you imagine how boring the film would be without her. It would have bombed and it probably wouldn't have gotten a sequel without Joker and Harley being in it. Sad but true.

@Nightwing1015 - I'm pretty sure Marvel has proven over and over that the characters don't need to be well-known, the movies just need to be good to be profitable.

@soberchimera - Yeah I agree with that. But Suicide Squad wasn't good. So without Harley it would be basically unwatchable. That's what I was trying to say.

Maybe a version without Harley would be better but if Ayer was still in charge, it doesn't matter what they adapt. It would suck regardless.

@Nightwing1015 - Without Harley, there would've been no awful performance by Leto's Joker. That would be a win in my book.

"her escaping her relationship with Joker was the major emotional through line"

so the movie ends with the joker breaking in belle reve and rescuing her why????

@NicolausCopernicus - I think he's insinuating this was reshot or added after he completed his vision of it.

Joker and Harley's relationship was quite different at first

Can I just get Joaquin Phoenix Joker vs Battinson? I mean it's sad that we didn't get much of Leto's Joker but he's most likely not coming back.

@DeadWade213 - problem with Joaquin Joker is he isn’t Joker.

Joker is highly intelligent and cunning; criminal mastermind despite being whacked out of his mind. Joaquin Joker is a mentally ill man who is incredibly lucky when I’m dangerous situations (escaping those cops for example). He’d have to transform into the mastermind Joker we know to go toe to toe with Bats.

“her escaping her relationship with Joker was the major emotional through line“

So you wanted a Joker and Harley film then?

It sucks that a director's vision can't be realized, even Snyder's. I get it, these big budget films make the studios uneasy but you have to trust the talent you hire.

I'm glad marvel were able to get rid of their creative committee and I hope WB loosen the reigns a little as well but I doubt they'll have a cinematic universe after Joker

This movie caused a whole generation to believe that the Joker and Harley are some great love story. Whenever I talk to someone like that I show them

I'd be more interested in an Ayercut than a Snydercut
