Relieved? Or do you wish she would've studied the previous depictions in order to see what worked and what didn't? Sound off below in the usual spot!

Lois Lane is a fictional character, the primary love interest of Superman in the comic books of DC Comics. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, she first appeared in Action Comics #1 (June 1938).

Lois is Superman's chief romantic interest and, for fifteen years in the DC continuity, was his wife. Like Superman's alter ego Clark Kent, she is a reporter for the Metropolis newspaper, The Daily Planet.

Lois' physical appearance was originally based on Joanne Carter,a model hired by Siegel and Shuster who would later marry Siegel.

Lois' personality was based on Torchy Blane, a female reporter featured in a series of films from the 1930s. Siegel took her name from actress Lola Lane, who portrayed Torchy in one of the middle entries. She is also based on real life journalist Nellie Bly.

Depictions of Lois Lane have varied since her character was created in 1938, spanning the 70-year history of Superman comics and other media adaptations. During the Silver Age, she was the star of Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane, a comic title that had a light and frivolous tone. However, the original Golden Age version of Lois, as well as versions of her from the 1970s onwards, portray Lois as a tough-as-nails journalist and intellectual equal to Superman. One thing has remained throughout the character's 70-year history, however: she has always been the most prominent love-interest in Superman's life and is seen by many fans as the archetypical comic book love interest.

I just find it funny that most people are ok with thousands of changes to SUperman, but are still bothered by Lois's hair colour... Is all.

I find it funny that no matter how many MILLIONS of dollars they use to make these films and all the very latest in DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY, that they still can't get her hair colour right!

Ginger hair is a genetic mutation, she should have played a mutant in X-men or something, not Lois.

@kevberg first Lois was red headed. Many times she was a red head in the comics. OK, it wasn't as light as Amy's, but still...

the Red hair wouldn't bother me as much if it was a darker Red like the previous comicbook depiction that Reddish blonde just throws it off there are already to many red heads love interest out and Lois is one of the few Brunettes female characters

The only performance I wish she would have paid attention to was Bosworth's... so she'd know what NOT to do.

And Lois has been a redhead on tv AND in the comics. Know your history.

She's got a long way to go before she can out-Lois Teri Hatcher. However, she certainly has proven to have the skills to do it! I just hope she's not directed to act out of Lois' character, à la Bosworth was.

With darker red hair she looks like Lois but the ginger makes her look more like Lana Lang.

why isn't her hair darker.

everyone is saying it. I don't care. I'll say it too. She looks like Lana. it's annoying because it was an easy fix.

after seeing "The Fighter" I am sure she has the acting chops to deliver. so why not fix her hair? characters have a specific look!

dumb.

She sounded kinda contradictory to me. She's doing her own thing yet respecting the past and pulling from it what she can.

Way too old to start a franchise with, she'll be nearly 40 by the time they finish shooting the 2nd film if your lucky. By the third film she'll be 42/43

People would go CRAZY if Superman was blonde or Batman was ginger. They even went crazy when Daniel Craig (a blonde) was cast as James Bond.

So it's perfectly understandable for Lois Lane .. a well-known dark haired comic character!

Adams' age and hair colour is annoying me :/ i love her as an actress but .. just no.
