OmegaDaGod@ Totally agree. It is another Superman movie, but only in the same way that it is also another Batman movie. This is DCCU 2, not Man of Steel 2.
I don't know why people are still treating it like it is Man of Steel 2 with Batman as a special guest star. It is called Batman Vs. Superman, that's your first clue that it is not Man of Steel 2. It is a sequel to the franchise that began with Man of Steel, but that franchise is the DCCU.
This is not a Superman movie with Batman in it, any more than it is a Batman movie with Superman in it.

I think maybe this is part of a short montage for earlier on in the film showing how metropolis is recovering from the alien invasion

you see, this game actually takes place before TDKR. luther is waynes bookie. wayne blows his entire wad on this, a high school football game.
wayne says fck you, aint payin "cause i'm batman."
luther sends his goomba (bane) to break his back and get the money.
wayne tells kent to take out luther..."because he's just a human and your fcking superman... and you kill now"
kent says "NO!"
bruce says "Rrrrrrr, let's put on our costumes and fight!"
