Christopher Nolan Comments Briefly On Henry Cavill's Superman Audition!

The Dark Knight Rises director briefly comments on how impressive Henry Cavill was in his tests for the role of the Man of Steel and reveals what he thinks about how the actor will do...

In an interview in the latest issue of Empire Magazine, the critically acclaimed director of the Batman franchise and producer of Zack Snyder's Superman: The Man of Steel was quizzed on Henry Cavill's test for the role and how he think he'll do come 2012.

"Henry's a terrific choice as Superman. Other than having the look, he gave an incredible performance in the test we did and I think he's going to be something really extraordinary in the role."

Although Christopher Nolan has stated in recent interviews that he'll now be taking a step back from this movie to let Snyder do his thing, this does at least make it clear that he was involved in the casting process. Guess that explains why Tom Welling didn't get it, huh?

Superman: The Man of Steel is set to be released sometime during the Winter of 2012!

the only thing that nolan failed in batman is that he got a good screen testing on christian bale but failed to test his bat-voice, its like all phlegm of bale was stuck in his throat. if bale could experiment more on his bat-voice he could ended up sounding like cookie monster

Zach Snyder - I'm not impressed. This is starting to remind me of the old disaster movies formula like Earthquake and Towering Inferno. You take the most star power you can find and hope for a great opening week.

The only thing that I am looking forward to less than Superman at this stage is Sucker Punch.

Haha, glad that you spotted it intruder! :D

I've never seen Cavill in anything so it's difficult to get excited about seeing him play Superman. However, from what I HAVE heard he's a great choice, and the supporting cast is also shaping up to be pretty damned good so far. With Zack Snyder directing (and those 'Birthright' rumours hopefully ending up coming true) then this should be a [frick]ing amazing movie.

Nolan needs to do the opposite of taking a step back and make sure he keeps Hack Snyder in line before Superman turns into a slo-mo marathon with 2 dimensional characters.

@ teabag - dunno about the film being awesome, but that video is hilarious! Nice one lmao!

@Teabag...LMFAO! Hilarious shit! So far I think the casting/rumors have been pretty off. Nolan would back the choice like Stanley Lee would get behind the Marvel brand dildo ;D I wouldn't be surprised that they are aware of the negative flack for casting Cavill and are afraid it will show in ticket sales.

Maybe they're marketing this flick to all the ladies and some gents ;)

I will wait to be truly amazed once this film comes out. They seem to be doing everything right SO FAR...no routh or welling (THANK THE FU*KING LORD) and the castings of Henry Cavill and Diane Lane really makes me happy and optimistic about this film.

Finally...Superman is getting a grade-A cast for a change. Last time he had a good cast was back in the Reeve-films.

My highest hope is in this film. I don't wanna be let-down again by Superman.
