Next summer, "Man of Steel" is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Please don't do what TASM did with Osborn. That's corny. Either pick an actor who is going to play Lex or just mention his name.

@gillri

I enjoyed that facet as well! They went uptempo, but it still marched on.., as all the superhero trailers do once they hit their mark halfway to 2/3rd the way in. I can't remember anything outside the tone.., just saying and I store 12 minute long multi-instrumental progressions in my head for hours at a time. Not trying to be uber-d!ck, or go against your business model.., it's truth, justice and reality(american way would have been questionable even in the '90's).

the logo colors are probably like that to foreshadow his presidency in future films

Quite the contrary, I think LexCorp's (or even Lex himself) presence should be in a similar capacity to OsCorp's in The Amazing Spider-Man, in a way that it acknowledges that the company and the famed CEO exist, just not revealed yet.

And yes, that logo does look a bit...weird, but it's interesting to see the creative decision! Y'know, I think it's looks more like any other common companies existing in the real world, thus making it a little more plausible. Not every advanced company logo has to look that intricate.

Anyway, is the score used in the trailer Hans Zimmer's? Because if so, I'll be extremely pleased. That tune has everything I've always wanted for a Superman theme: An ambient, yet also majestic and dramatic tune, with an epic build-up that quite matches up to John Williams' classic theme. I shed a tear when he took flight in the trailer; not only because of the sight, but also because of the score's climax. Perfection.

Best movie ever? It may very well be. I'm wicked excited about Iron Man and Thor but nothing even close to what I am feeling for this movie.

That colour scheme is deliberate. It's to show how Lex claims to be "All-American" and basically aims to be the personification of American ideals and values. Then of course Superman appears and shows that he ACTUALLY embodies those values, making Lex jealous.
I also hope that he offers to "clean up" the debris after the climax of the movie, claiming to do a generous public service, but actually uses Kryptonian tech to build his own suit!

P.S. since we're on the subject. Does anybody think that Morris Chestnut would make a good Lex?
I know he's black, but i remember in the Animated series, Lex was at least mixed race. It'd be a nice little experiment, imo.

@GetsugaTensho22 I don't believe that animated Lex was mixed; If my memory serves me, it was a creative decision to base his appearance on the actor Telly Savalas.

I have a feeling we will see Lex in this movie, but dealing with the politicians or dealing with the military as a politician. Or maybe the military needs Lex for equipment and tech.

Also, the Red/White/Blue in the LexCorp logo tells me Luthor want to be viewed as a, AMERICAN PUBLIC FIGURE. (ahem)

MARK MY WORDS: Luthor will either BE or BE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT by third installment (and,or) JusticeLeauge film.
