In this month's Total Film Swedish born actress Myanna Buring reveals that she read for a part in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot. But who in Krypton is Ursula?

You may not recognize Myanna Buring by face or name but by all accounts she is about to make a big splash in Hollywood. She will be playing Vampire leader Tanya in the final installment of the Twilight franchise; Breaking Dawn and you will see her soon in a British movie that is bound to cause a stir, the critically acclaimed Kill List.



Anyway, you know your going places when you are called up to read for a part in a big CBM and Buring tells total film..

"I met Zack Snyder for Man Of Steel and read for Ursula, which was amazing"


Now as we all should know. Ursula was the name of the Krytonian villain from Superman 2. A variation on Ursa from the comics. As we also know, yet another variation on this character, Faora, is who we will be seeing in Man Of Steel. So was the original character to be called Ursula and was later changed? Has Buring just mixed the names up? Or will we be seeing Ursula AND Faora in the movie? Highly unlikely, but what do you guys think?

Ursa was in Superman II but yeah...wow I don't get why they wanna connect this movie with SupermanII.

I mean come on...Zod, Ursa and that CGI mo-cap guy is being rumored as Non.

Non and Ursa were created BY Donner himself. They didn't originate in the comics. So I don't get why Nolan/Goyer would've wanted to use them. It's time to move on from Donner already.

Hopefully there won't be an Ursa or Non in this movie. I liked the original rumors of it being- Zod, Faora and Jax-Ur.

I just barely got over the fact Lex aint in this film. If he was though, I think i'd be ok with Ursa and Non being in because at least we'd get a new take on Lexie!

Lex has YET to garner a proper portrayal. If they use Lex- NO MORE [frick]ING REAL-ESTATE. Please god. I don't get why real-estate seems to be the plot of villains these days...even in that crappy street fighter film recently they had M. Bison trying to steal real-estate as the plot of the film. I just don't get why they keep ruining good villains with that type of crappy plotline?

@Ranger- Hahahaha true that buddy. I'm expecting the infamous cellophane "S" to appear in this film to SOME degree ;P

But yeah i don't get it. 2006 we got a Superman: The Movie remake...now 6 years later we're getting a SupermanII remake.

Come on WB, give us something NEW for once.

@rbfn04- True...i hope...something of Lex will appear in this film. He is as integral to Superman as Sinestro is to Hal, Joker is to Batman etc-

Only difference between those 3 villains is that THEY- Joker and Sinestro were portrayed brilliantly on the big screen recently...thanks to Heath Ledger and Mark Strong.

Lex still hasn't had a decent modern-day portrayal. Instead in 2006 we just got a lame Hackman-impersonation. Spacey= GREAT method actor...he is up there if not higher than Mark Strong. I LOVED his movie- K Pax...?

Spacey is great...but he just got the worst direction for a Lex Luthor ever because of that asshat Singer.

I just hope that IF Lex does appear...I hope, hope, hope he won't go after real-estate.

@MrNoFear- Ursa and Non were created by Richard Donner for the sole purpose of his films. They held no basis in the comics until just recently.

They should have no place in the Superman reboot that is trying its best to distance itself from the Donner films.

If we're going by the comicbooks and we want two companions for Zod on his quest of destruction, give us something new and different, I say- Faora and Jax-Ur.

Bringing back Ursa and Non will make this film seem like less of a reboot and more of a rehash.

Jax-Ur would have been perfect for this movie...in the comics he was a rogue Krptonian scientist. Problem with Non is...well...while he IS brutish which is always good for a Superman film I suppose, the #1 problem is that's all he is- Brutish. He has no brain...or if he does, it's that of a child.

I figured adding Jax-Ur to this movie would have given Superman the added challenge of an opponent he will fight PHYSICALLY with super-powers- Zod, Martial-Arts and more technical fighting- Faora and show Superman's more mental-power and strengths with him using his brain while battling Jax-Ur.

It just would have made more sense. Plus the idea of Jax-Ur taking over LexCorp technology and raising it to Kryptonian levels was a really cool rumor...it sounded awesome.

Ursa wasn't in the comics, she was introduced in the Donner movies (Where she was Ursa, NOT Ursula) She's probably some kind of secondary character
