Next summer, "Man of Steel" is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Starring Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Ayelet Zorer, Man of Steel is set to hit theatres on June 14, 2013.

Man of Steel could be good but I don't think it will be as good as Superman Returns. That movie was epic. They should have made a sequel to that one because I wanted to see Superman and Super Jason fighting Brainiac or something. I'd rather have Bryan Singer directing than Zack Ryder to be honest.

I am. At least I appreciate what Bryan Singer tried to do. I think it was a very accurate vision of how Richard Donner and Christopher Reeve would have continued their version in a post-9/11 world. It was realistic, but sensitive and heart warming, which superhero movies seriously lack today. People today just want to see mindless explosions and Michael Bay BOOM! crap. I'm not saying that Man of Steel will be like that because it does look good but Superman Returns is the Superman movie for me. Also, the Reeve films are classic.

@OhThePurdue, you're talking about a Superman movie I'd love to see. I just don't know why you keep calling it Superman Returns.

And this Lego version of the trailer was fantastic.

I personally think that man of steel will be the best cbm this year but iron man 3 will be very close behind it, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this is mine. Superman returns was good but not that good in my opinion and I think with the cast, writers, producers and director that they have behind this that it can't go wrong. Only film I did not like from Snyder was suckers punch but it's obviously that visually he clearly knows what he is doing.

Lol. Come on, a Superman movie by Zack Ryder would probably be amazing!

But all jokes aside, the much bigger news here is that Gusto is back!

@OhThePurdue I really appreciate your support for the film.. but seriously, if you have read one superman comic in your life you would view it differently. Plus.. the story sucked.. it opened really well.. then became a little super maury show. it could have gone a very different way if lex had at least manufactured metallo to fight supes instead of rehashing the old "kryptonite deus ex machina".. but hey.. to each his own..
