There hasn't been much on the status of Superman: The Man of Steel in a while but now as reported by IESB they have confirmation from Warner Bros. that Bryan Singer is returning to direct the film.

Brandon Routh has already been confirmed as returning to the super hero role.

As things continue to move forward the script may be moving into the hands of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman who gave us Transformers. The duo have apparently been meeting with Warner Bros. discussing the project.
