Just who is the mysterious mo-cap actor spotted on the Man of Steel set last month? I for one don't think that this is simply a stand in for Michael Shannon. He's already been spotted in a mo-cap suit, and there's no reason to believe he'll "Hulk Out" so to speak and become a giant enemy for Superman to face. Instead, I believe that it's far more likely some sort of monstrous henchman, and looking back at the comments sections of past articles when this mo-cap man was first photographed, it's clear that Doomsday is the #1 choice with you guys. Of course, it seems like this villain would be better suited to being the ONLY one facing off against the Man of Steel in a movie, but who knows what director Zack Snyderhas up his sleeves! Introducing Doomsday now may just be the perfect way of bringing him back in future for a full on brawl similar to that seen in "The Death Of Superman". So, did YOU want to see him in the upcoming movie? Here are the results in full...

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman

Jer3miah, I totally agree. If they were to do a Doomsday movie, and I said this before on another post, they need to save the entire Doomsday story for at least part three. Definitely NOT part one. That's entirely too early. I say this, Bring the Doomsday timeline in at third movie. Go all out, Eradicator, The Cyborg, Superboy (the clone), Steel (maybe not, just don't get Shaq lol), and Doomsday. Heck, even bring in Bibbo Bibbowski. However they do that, it needs to be handles with care. Not often do you get to take on a character AND a story that are so reveared. The Doomsday/Death of Superman story was so shocking when it happened that it was mimicked by just about every other comic franchise (from Batman's broken back to the apparent death of Spiderman and Hellboy).

They need to haev the third movie end with Superman's death and then do the entire "Life" of Superman story in part four. This is where you would introduce the Eradicator, the Cyborg, and all those others.

Only my opinion, but I think that would be the best way to go about it.

i've always thought the DEATH of superman would make a great trilogy on film if they followed the epic comicbooks.

Doomsday in an origin-type film is just ridiculous. People need to think things through before they push their vote button. It sounds good because everyone would love to see Doomsday on the big screen and for the Man of Steel to actually go toe to toe with a formidable opponent, but in reality it shouldn't happen in the first film.

I don't think it would be a bad idea to have doomsday in the film would be a bad idea i mean it could set up a scenario for Darkseid. But having both of those villians could over saturate the film and take people completely out of the movie so they could have Zod then Doomsday and those two movies could set up for Darkseid and maybe as the films go on they could drop a few easter eggs about darkseid

Save Doomsday for later, it would be like if they had Bane in Batman Begins, it wouldn't work and would make the characters seem drastically underpowered

I swear the people in these polls are very uninformed. "yes doomsday and Zod vs KalEl!"
In the comic's canon Zod Killed Doomsday once before and hunted down the terrorists responsible for his unleashing, hence Zod having power via Marshall Law, and the House of El overthrowing him. Zod despises Doomsday, even fears him.

Or perhaps Doomsday is Zod's "secret weapon" against Earth but eventually turns against Zod. So as grif pointed- Supes and Zod must work together to stop the rampaging Doomsday!

I know it's Superman's first film but we don't even know for a fact that it will spawn sequels due to the rights issues by 2013.

If this is going to be the last Superman movie then i say- hell yes to Doomsday appearing in the film.

For a last Superman film I'd rather they also use the opportunity to introduce a great villain like Doomsday to the big screen rather than just waste it on simply Zod and Faora.

We've seen Zod on the big screen before. We've never had Doomsday. If this be the last Superman movie. They should bring in Doomsday by the third act at least. Maybe in this Superman universe, DOOMSDAY is what pushes Clark to really becoming Superman and becoming the hero he is in the comics. Just a thought. :)

No thank you. I want to see supes be super for a change. and i don't want to see it just before he dies. That was a great story arc, but some people feel like its the end all be all for supes stories. I personally would like to see "Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow" on the big screen.

No at all! Doomsday deserves to have a separated movie, after all he is the one that kicked all justice league asses and killed Superman. In fact for a movie based on his particiption, you don't need more villains, you need more heroes to be defeated and then Superman saving the day by getting killed by Doomsday! that would be epic!!

@mainstream05- No those people aren't morons. They simply would like to see a NEW Superman-villain debut on the big screen for a change.

@Childenator- Not really. I get Doomsday is super-powerful and he'd probably work better in a later film but he could still be in THIS movie and maybe he can be such a powerful threat that he pushes Clark over the edge into becoming the Superman we all know from the comics. It COULD work. Just as long as they don't de-power him completely like they did in Smallville.

Ok I am new here and I had a thought its probably a shot in the dark, but is it at all possible that the mystery person is Martian Manhunter? I thought that there was a Justice League script in the works, now that could be just a rumor I'm not 100% sure. But I do agree with several statements above saying the Doomsday is too large of a character to just kinda throw in as a "henchman" and yes the Martian Manhunter is a HUGE DC comics character. But assuming that there really is a Justice League movie in the works, this could be their starting point and who better to start it off other than Chris Nolan making a movie on the one of the big 3 of the JLA, and then throwing in MM (who has been said to be the heart and soul of the JLA). In my copy of DC Comics Encyclopedia, there was a small part in the MM section, saying he possed as a teacher to watch a young Clark Kent. Now considering that Zack Snyder said that this movie focuses heavily on origins, which I would consider Smallville obviously. This would mean that there would be some young Clark scenes, which could mean that he would be at Smallville High with a teacher by the name of Mr.Jones or something like that idk Im not a movie writer.

So In Summary Doomsday and MM are both large DC characters. However, Doomsday I feel deserves to be a main villain and not a side dish so to speak. Having MM in the movie could be WB/DCs way to bring together the JLA, by having the "heart and soul" of them come together.

I realize I typed a lot and I apologize, it may be confusing if you would like to re-explain a certain part of it just let me know and I'd be glad to do so. No matter what to who the mystery man is Ive never been more excited for a comic book movie than I am for this one.

@LP4-I still think Darkseid would be the best option for a final film. I always thought of a trilogy, where Darkseid wants to take over earth, but then finds out about Superman and wants to see how powerful he is. in the first movie, he releases Zod from the phantom zone. in the second, he sends Doomsday, who kills superman. in the 3rd, Darkseid arrives on arth to take control, but doomsday turns on him. Superman comes back to life and has to team up with Darkseid to stop Doomsday. once hes defeated, Superman and Darkseid fight for the fate of Earth
