Understanding Smallville’s Stiletto

Understanding Smallville’s Stiletto

We all didn’t like the episode where Lois dresses up as a hero in the 8th season of Smallville but was this episode kind of something from the mythology?

I know what some of you are thinking. You’re thinking, “What the hell am I talking about?” Well this Stiletto character is from Superman mythology kind of and I have proof. In mythology Lois really didn’t have the name stiletto but she had the name Superwoman. The name "Superwoman" was originally copyrighted by Detective Comics in an effort to prevent competitors from using it. The appearance of the name "Superwoman" in a DC comic was a story in Action Comics where Lois Lane dreams that she has gained superpowers from a blood transfusion from Superman and launches a career as Superwoman.

That isn’t it folks. The story of Superwoman gets more interesting for Lois Lane but I still don’t like the idea of her being a super heroine. This would be revisited in a 1947 Superman comic in whom a pair of magicians cast a spell on Lois, making her believe she has superpowers. Superman is forced to play along with the ruse for a time, using super-speed to invisibly intervene in Lane's adventures, supporting the illusion. She briefly sports a costume modeled on Superman's before the spell is broken. A story has Lois actually gaining superpowers thanks to one of Lex Luthor's inventions, and launches a short-lived career as Superwoman. I hate this just as much as ya’ll do but the facts, sadly, have to be the facts. At least Smallville didn't go as far as Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. A version of Superwoman appeared on the show in the season three episode, "Ultra Woman." Clark lost his powers when a red kryptonite laser beam hit him and transferred his powers to Lois. Both of them were unaware of the transfer, until Lois pulled down an iron gate with her bare hands. Mrs. Kent made her a costume and Clark introduces her to Metropolis as Ultrawoman.

Thanks bro. I am a huge fan of both Smallville and the mythology

@VirtualVD
Thanks. Yes Smallville needs it props because they do things that are close to the mythology and people dont know it. They think just because Clark can't fly or has tights its no where near the mythology. They need a reality check because he doesn't fly or doesnt have tights in the beginning of the mythology. It's Smallville, not Metropolis. Now it is time for him to suit up but I wholly disagree that Smallville is not getting more to the mythology each Season

understandable. thankfully, it's not mandatory to know everything. although it would give some of us an advantage.
i do know a bit about certain DC characters, but the majority of my vast knowledge is derived from Marvel.
and i am being modest.

I have the comics, she was actually originally called Power Girl( yes I know that's also the name of Earth=2's Superman's cousin).

Ok, look! Never was Power Girl was Lois or Super Woman. I've read the original as I explained it above, it was Lois Lane. The one you are talking about that resembled Kara Zor-El that also was a superwoman was named Luma Lynai. Kara-Zor-El is supergirl and Power Girl is her cousin from another universe. Never was she SuperWoman. Lois and a few others took the name Superwoman but never either of the Kara's. Get yo info right bro
