I remember the show being really good and liking it...and Dean Cain being a good Superman...BUT that was YEARS ago when i was a kid...so i'm guessing its one of those things better left a memory. ...Terri Hatcher was/is a smokin hot Lois Lane though. ...i STILL remember the opening sequence when every week we saw her clevage. lol

I just watched a few episodes on www.thewb.com. I was right...LOL better left as a childhood memory...corny as all getout but still cool. Terri Was DEF HOT as Lois...Dean Cain actually LOOKs believable as Supes. Not a bad show...just corny/campy....all the actors were good in there parts...i remember never liking John Shea as Lex Luthor...i remember why. ...and the original Jimmy Olsen (Michael Landes)was way better than the second (Justin Whalen).

I love this show! Dean Cain is a great Superman, the show itself is very positive and lighthearted. For me it's superior to Smallville.

I'm with Superguy. Cain was way too campy and cheesy for Superman for me. Plus he was too small. He was alright, I guess, but not my favorite. Hell, I don't know who my favorite is to date because I haven't really cared for anyone as Supes to date.

Dean Cain was my first Superman, so I've got a warm spot for his portrayal. Heck yeah to Dean knowing about Kirk Alyn.

Dean Cain carried the role well. If he had had better writers and more DC related villains, or even a crossover with the Flash or someone, that show would have been so much better. Also, John Shea was the WORST Lex Luthor ever.

DEAN CAIN was alright... a BILLION times better than [frick]ing WELLING!

GEZUZ, anyone that thinks he's a good actor probably loves Twi-sh1te etc! : P

REEVES in #1 of course, then ROUTHY!

DEAN played a great CLARK!

LEEE777 - 11/14/2010, 10:32 AM
Knightstalker @ The writers on 'LOIS & CLARK' were much better than the sh1tty writers we have now on 'SMALLVILLE' dude lol! : P

I'm sure the whole writing team on SMALLVILLE is still at school! : D

Dean Cain is a GREAT actor and that show was freaken AWESOME as a kid to watch! I miss the old show -_-

To this day- I still rate Dean Cain as my favorite live-action interpretation of Superman/Clark Kent.

Brandon Routh was the worst in my eyes.
LP4
LP4 - 11/14/2010, 12:53 PM
In fact- the show was a great modern/believable interpretation of Superman. It was something I could relate to and they had a great Lex in John Shea- very suave and an evil, rich CEO- just like the comics. Yeah he had hair...that was the one bad thing.

But he was still better than Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey.

DEAN CAIN FTW!!!

cain and hatcher were o.k. but to me

like all superman's outside of the

cartoons they've all been lacking

in some way or another. i just be

glad when they finally get it right

like they've done with batman,spiderman,

blade, hulk, silver surfer was nice in the ff

movie..ff sucked ,but surfer didnt.

lp4 i hear you hackman and spacey were awful

and they helped stink up the movies they were

in.

He was okay in context, as was Hatcher. Cain's Clark was whiny, then handed over the whining to Hatcher's Lois. Again in context it was okay, but he doesn't have enough of the look or size. Kevin Sorbo ("Hercules") was up for the role. I would rather have seen him.

LP4@ We generally agree on most things, but Dean is a great actor? Wow...you have apparently have missed his pathetic performances in a number of SyFy and other B/C level movies. I think he is one step up from Routh and that isn't saying much. :P

Ranger14: agreed Cain isnt great.. as a matter

Great actors are people like Matt Damon,Denzel Washington,Al Pachino,Tom Hanks etc...Dean Cain
lol come on man!!!

I just want to say that I just watched Megamind, and amazingly, it had 10x more action than Routh's Superman Returns. What an irony... And I may be wrong, sorry if I dont have the numbers right, but it's at LEAST 10X more action. May be more though.

So ridiculous

I remember loving every episode of Cain's Superman series. Not sure how much the child factor may be involved there though.

LEEE777....Yes, Dean Cain portrayed an outstanding CK. Yes, I agree, The writing on Lois & Clark was much better than Smallville. L&C got so much right, it just kind of sucked that they didn't dive a little deeper into the whole DC universe.

Dean Cain is the man.

The way I see it and from what I have read George Reeve did not like playing Superman... So take him off your list, to make it worse he was a horrible actor.. ben Affleck did a better job portraying George than george did. As for the remark on Routh only being able to play Chris... Have you seen any of his other movies? or see him when he was on a soap? That is who he is and how he talks,it as luck that he was able to sound like CHris... Dean Cain isn't all that he isn't the greatest actor that's why you don't see him in any major block buster movies. I'm not hating on him cause I Like him too but I'm reading comments on here and wondering if the comic book nerd "stereo type ) you guys get is why you have it... If Lois and Clark were to air now it would not survive it was great for the early 90's but not by todays tv standards.. Bottom Line nobody will ever be Chris... so get over it and let these men be...And if we get another superman it will kill the franchise like they did batman back in the day... Forgive my bad writing ( cause someone will comment on it don't have time to correct myself)

A real superman fan

[email protected] my bad writing ( cause someone will comment on it don't have time to correct myself)

I forgive your bad writing it's your logic that needs some work!!!

[email protected] way I see it and from what I have read George Reeve did not like playing Superman... So take him off your list

Why should George REEVES be taken off the list just because you read somewhere that he didn't like playing Supes???

[email protected] make it worse he was a horrible actor.. ben Affleck did a better job portraying George than george did. As for the remark on Routh only being able to play Chris... Have you seen any of his other movies? or see him when he was on a soap?

Let me ask you...have you seen any of George REEVES' other movies??? Did you know that he just so happened to be in a couple of movies you're parents might've heard of called "Gone With the Wind" and "From Here to Eternity"!

Also, someone has to tell me how many GREAT actors came from soaps...I'm sure there might be one but I still think the comment is funny as it brings names like Rick Springfield, Jack Wagner, John Stamos and David Hasselhoff to mind! lol...

(I will agree in part on the Ben Affleck comment though, one of the main reasons I wanted to see "HollywoodLand" was to see Ben in the suit)!!! Let the haters start but I would still very much like to see Affleck play Supes...hey, it's my opinion...

I LOVED the L&C series when i was a kid.

@Ranger14- I don't know...I say he's a great actor but I mean comparing him with Routh yeah...that's kinda where it stemmed from- at least Dean ACTS :P
