Some purportedly leaked concept art from James Gunn's Superman: Legacy is doing the rounds online, and it may give us our first glimpse of what the filmmaker has in store for this latest incarnation of the Man of Steel and a couple of his supporting characters.
The artwork features Supes in what could well be the new costume he dons in the upcoming movie, as well as Hawkgirl, and half of Mr. Terrific's face. Another character can be seen taking flight on the left, but it's difficult to make out any details (a member of the Authority, perhaps)?
Could this be the real deal? It's difficult to say. It certainly looks legit, and Gunn did confirm that his team had been well into the pre-production stage prior to the first casting announcements. That said, the angle leads us to believe that it's more likely a fan-made image attempting to pass as "leaked" official art.
Have a look for yourselves, and let us know what you think.
Superman: Legacy will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The supporting cast includes Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
Casting is currently underway for Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White.
Barring any delays, Production is scheduled to commence next January.
UPDATE: Confirmed as fan-art.
