When it comes to who is one of the best Batman writers of all time, Paul Dini is on the list. He was a writer for the critically acclaimed
Batman: The Animated Series. His biggest work on the show would probably be the episode he wrote called
Heart of Ice which gave Mr Freeze a completely new backstory and background that even went into the comic book universe.
Heart of Ice was nominated for an Emmy and won it. Dini also wrote a graphic novel canon to
Batman: The Animated Series that was drew by
Batman: The Animated Series director, Bruce Timm, called
Mad Love.
Mad Love was about the backstory of Harley Quinn, who was created directly for the show.
Mad Love was so well received that not only did it won a Eisner award but comic book legend, Frank Miller, called it
the best Batman book of the decade. Paul Dini also wrote the video games
Batman: Arkham Asylum and
Batman: Arkham City which won numerous Game of the Year awards. The point is, Paul Dini is one of the best Batman writers ever and knows the character by heart like how Mark Waid knows Superman.
