Fancast: Teen Titans

Fancast: Teen Titans

Probably my favorite fancast thus far, this is a dream cast of DC's Teen Titans.

Dan Harmon as the Showrunner
One thing I hope would never be absent in a Teen Titans series is the characters to be human with their own unique abilities and a sense of family outside of family. Harmon has shown his incredible ability to handle comedy and also keep things timely without feeling dated (I smell a Teen Titans Christmas Special). If anyone can make the Titans feel like people you could identify with either comically or dramatically it would be Dan Harmon who is choosy enough by now to know who to bring on to direct episodes.

Timothee Chalamet as Dick Grayson/Robin
Age: 19
As the first Robin, Dick Grayson was one of the most famous sidekicks in fiction before maturing into the independent hero Nightwing. Dick was also a founding member of the Teen Titans.

Reason for Casting: Chalamet has a natural charisma and may have one of the most decorated resumes of any teen actor today with roles in Interstellar, Men, Women and Children and also Law & Order and Royal Pains. He was also one of the many rumored to take Garfield's place as the Spiderman of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If a big company like Marvel can risk putting the weight of an iconic character like Spidey on his back I think he can outperform as the Boy Wonder.

Chloe Grace Moretz as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl
Age: 18
Barbara Gordon was the first modern age Batgirl until she was brutally shot by the Joker, rendering her paralyzed from the waist down. Barbara reinvented herself as Oracle, providing intelligence to the DCU heroes and leading the Birds of Prey. She has recently become Batgirl once again to protect Gotham City. However in the show I would prefer if The Killing Joke hasn't happened yet (or at all maybe) due to Moretz ability to play such a physical character for years to come.

Reason for Casting: Moretz is truly a fancast favorite, if there's a female character in a comic book there's a pretty good chance somebody thinks she could do it and rightfully so. Moretz impressed fans everywhere with her turn as Hit-Girl in the critically acclaimed Kick-Ass when she was just a small child. Going on to do other things afterwards she's the perfect age to still do physical roles and maintain an on-screen chemistry with Chalamet's Robin.

Abigail Breslin as Cassandra Sandsmark/Wonder Girl
Age: 19
Cassandra Sandsmark was originally the daughter of Olympian God Zeus and Dr. Helena Sandsmark. She became the second Wonder Girl in an attempt to save Wonder Woman's life. Cassie continues adventuring as a member of the Teen Titans. Her New 52 incarnation is the daughter of Wonder Woman's half-brother Lennox, and derives her powers from an ancient armor named the 'Silent Armor' related to the demon Trigon.

Reason for Casting: Some people don't give much credit to Breslin's talent but I certainly do and think it's a crime she isn't as big a star as I personally think she should be. However, regardless of what you think of her it wouldn't be that hard to imagine her the powerful Wonder Girl.

Liam Aiken as Roy Harper/Arsenal
Age: 25
Green Arrow's first sidekick, Roy use to be known as Speedy but later became Red Arrow and Roy Harper has grown to become one of the most accomplished marksmen in the DC Universe. After being abandoned by his mentor, Roy now goes by the name Arsenal.

Reason for Casting: I chose Liam for two main reasons. One is because he's significantly older than the rest of the cast which would work great for the Arsenal I had in mind which would be more of a supporting character in the same vein as Young Justice and two is because he's a great actor appearing in such films as Henry Fool and Road to Perdition, I felt he would make an excellent Arsenal.

Kwesi Boakye as Victor Stone/Cyborg
Age: 16
Half man, half machine - all hero! After a near fatal incident, Victor Stone was cybernetically enhanced by his father. He now possesses the ability to communicate, manipulate, and interface with nearly all forms of technology.

Reason for Casting: A young force to be reckoned with, Kwesi is a good up and coming actor that has shown much more promise than runner up Trevor Jackson. Boakye has shown fluent talent in various mediums leading me to believe he could easily play the genius scientist that is Victor Stone.

Kaitlyn Dever as Rachel Roth/Raven
Age: 18
Raven battles the forces of evil alongside her adoptive family, the Teen Titans, while trying to control her baser, antagonistic instincts she inherited from her demonic father, Trigon.Raven is one of the longest serving members of the Teen Titans, in various incarnations of the team. Raven owes her heroic role (as well as an evil role) to a darker past - she is the daughter of a human mother named Arella and an inter-dimensional demon known as Trigon.

Reason for Casting: I cast Dever as Raven due to being very impressed with her work in Justified and Last Man Standing and it was only a few days ago I saw her in her most acclaimed role in Short Term 12 and I realized how lucky I actually got. Dever was a force of nature in that film easily playing a broken damaged girl with issues that relate back to her father. So yeah Dever is pretty much the best pick for Raven. Fun Fact: My runner up was Elizabeth Gillies but I kept looking because Gillies looks too old at this point at least in my opinion.

Joel Courtney as Garfield Logan/Beast Boy

Age: 19
The classically green-skinned member of the The Teen Titans, Beast Boy has the power to transform into any creature of any size. Biologists Mark and Marie Logan took their two year old son Garfield with them to the African country of Upper Lamumba, where they were conducting research on genetic codes. Gar came down with a rare tropical disease that was believed only animals could survive.

Reason for Casting: Courtney is a great up and coming actor with a variety of lead roles under his belt already from JJ Abrams' Super 8 to Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn to being in the main cast of the show The Messengers. Joel could easily portray the goofball member of the Titans in Beast Boy and make him the perfect blend of emotionally distressed combined with oddball humor.

Villains

Vanessa Hudgens as Jade Nguyen/Cheshire
Cheshire is one of the deadliest assassins in the DC universe. She is an expert in both martial arts and the use of poisons. During the Vietnam War, American soldier Robert Pullman had an affair with a Vietnamese woman, leaving her pregnant with a child who would later become one of the deadliest and feared assassins on the planet. The girl was named Jade and spent ten years of her childhood being raised by her mother alone until she was separated from her.

Reason for Casting: Hudgens doesn't do much acting these days which is bad because I have seen her be a very serviceable actor. This is is why I would would personally choose her for the role of the older villain Cheshire who is also the love interest of Arsenal, played by Liam Aiken. If Hudgens does choose to once again pursue acting seriously I would hope she would pick a role suited for her.

Jordan Prentice as Gizmo
A bald dwarf who flies around on a jet pack, Gizmo is a genius inventor who can turn seemingly innocuous objects like vacuum cleaners into dangerous weapons. Earlier in his life, he supplied criminals with technology through his company, Gizmos, Inc.

Reason for Casting: A notable actor with roles in films like In Bruges, Weirdsville and Mirror Mirror, it's about time Prentice makes a return to the spotlight as he's proven he can truly be a really good actor. The impromptu leader of the HIVE and evil genius Gizmo is the perfect role for him to display why he's stuck around in Hollywood this long.

Nathan Jones as Baran Flinders/Mammoth
As children growing up in Australia, Baran Flinders and his sister Selinda received nothing but mockery as their unique abilities developed, she could transmute elements, while he exhibited terrifying strength. The world-renowned scientist Dr. Helga Jace taught them how to control their talents, whereupon they created the villainous identities of Mammoth and Shimmer.

Reason for Casting: Nathan is known and has been cast for his incredible bulk and immense strength but what some people fail to notice is that he's actually becoming a more and more seasoned actor with roles in films such as Mad Max Fury Road, A Way of Life and Fearless all under his belt. Put him in a wig and I think he would make the perfect Mammoth.

Peyton List as Rose Wilson/Ravager
Rose Wilson is the highly trained warrior daughter of Deathstroke and Adeline Wilson (originally Lillian Worth). Rose was a member of N.O.W.H.E.R.E. and a trusted minion of Harvest, but has since left the organization.

Reason for Casting: List has been really impressing lately with her roles in 3 Backyards and The Greatest Game Ever Played. Rose's character requires quite a lot of emotional vulnerability and most of all some viciousness and malice I feel List in her young age could definitely bring to the table.

Liana Liberato as Princess Koriand'r/Starfire
Formerly warrior Princess Koriand'r of the now-destroyed planet Tamaran, Starfire found a new home on Earth, and a new family in the Teen Titans. Koriand'r was the second of three children born to King Myand'r and Queen Luand'r of the planet Tamaran, whose inhabitants have the ability to absorb solar energy through their skin and convert it into the power of flight.

Reason for Casting: Before the comments section jumps on my back about it I included Starfire in the villains section because that's what I would like her initially introduced as only to be convinced of her wrong doing and inducted into the Teen Titans. Liberato has impressed me in films such as Stuck in Love (even though I hated that movie) and Trust. I highly doubt she wouldn't be able to bring a gleeful presence and a commanding force to the alien Starfire and love interest of Robin. (Dick and Barb together forever though!)

Karl Urban as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Genetically engineered to surpass all human limits, Slade Wilson was once a soldier, but now works as one of the most feared assassins in the DC Universe. He has frequently clashed with the Teen Titans, the Justice League, Batman, and even fought Lobo!

Reason for Casting: Urban has been a fan favorite for many roles over many years including Batman himself, another run at Dredd and Wolverine, Iron Man etc. The one role I think would totally suit Urban the best though, considering he's a very intimidating yet humble actor is the Terminator himself and archenemy of the Titans Deathstroke.

Joe Dempsie as Sebastian "Brother" Blood
Brother Blood is the 8th "Brother Blood", Each person in the lineage must kill the previous to take the mantle of the Blood. He has ways he can be reincarnated after Death. He grew up in Hell, having been tortured for so many years even he can't recall how long. He believes that being there is all part of Trigon's plan. Then one day the magical binds holding him, break, setting him free, turns out all the prisoners in hell have been set free.

Reason for Casting: It's no secret that all Game of Thrones actors are amazing and should have bigger roles in Hollywood. Dempsie's only great movie moment came with The Damned United so I think he should jump into the DCU for the meantime and portray a badass Brother Blood in my dream Teen Titans television series.

Torrance Coombs as Trigon
Six-eyed demon with his mind set towards spreading evil onto Earth through his daughter Raven. Trigon was originally born of celestial blasphemy, spreading viral like evil that would corrupt worlds and civilizations into self destruction.

Reason for Casting: Now obviously a character like Trigon would require CGI among other things but I figured it would be cool to see the giant demon in his human form as well. For that tole I chose Torrance due to his piercing eyes and vampirish appearance, it instantly struck me as almost monsterish.

Jump City Cameos
Characters that may make sporadic appearances and be important to the arc without overstaying their welcome.

Elias Koteas as Commisioner James Gordon
James Gordon was one of Batman's first supporters, helping him fight against crime and corruption. Rising to the rank of Commissioner in the Gotham City Police Department, he remains one of Batman's greatest allies.

Reason for Casting: Koteas is regarded as one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood so people and Casey Jones fans alike would love to see him appear in more material especially if he would be playing a great ally of the Batman in Jim Gordon. Koteas has the age and the acting ability to pull off such a great character.

Skyler Samuels as Stephanie Brown/Spoiler
Stephanie Brown is the Cluemaster's daughter, and Timothy Drakes' Girlfriend. She becomes the Spoiler to "spoil" her father's criminal plots. When Tim Drake is forced to give up the mantle of Robin, Steph takes it on and fails. Later, Cassandra Cain decides to pass on the mantle of Batgirl to Stephanie. In the New 52, she's back to being The Spoiler.

Reason for Casting: Samuels is one of the few teen actors that don't get bogged down by major companies and actually has acting ability. I would have her at first be a simple classmate of Dick and (straying from the comics Zod forbid) have her eventually progress into the Spoiler identity.

Leslie Hope as Leslie Thompkins
Dr. Leslie Thompkins is a Pacifist doctor operating out of the toughest part of Gotham's criminal slums. She was a colleague of Thomas Wayne and a close friend to the Wayne family. Being a good friend of Bruce, she aids his adoptive son Robin with his crime fighting injuries as well.

Reason for Casting: Hope is an extremely hard working actress and one that will probably not stop anytime soon. She's got a main role on the TV series 24, has been in films like Love Streams, Clerks, Talk Radio and Fun. In my mind, Thompkins would have a big role in the show and Hope can fill that role gracefully.

Michaela Conlin as Angela Roth/Arella
The mother of the Teen Titan, Raven and wife of the demon lord Trigon.Angela Roth grew up in a restrictive home with a fanatically religious father. Growing tired of abuse, both physical and mental, Angela fled her Gotham home at the age of seventeen. Her parents either didn't notice or didn't care. This despairing, weak-willed woman was about to commit suicide when she was stopped by a messenger who brought her to Azarath, where she began a new life. It was here that she was given the name Arella, which means "The Messenger Angel."

Reason for Casting: Conlin definitely looks the part to play the mother of Raven, her half demon daughter and has the acting chops to pull it off as well. Ideally a whole arc would focus on Raven and her relationship with her parents so Conlin who's been in Enchanted, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Pipe Dream could definitely carry the emotional weight of the character.

Hailee Steinfeld as Helena Bertinelli/Huntress
Helena Bertinelli, born into one of Gotham's mafia families, became a violent vigilante destroying those that had killed her family. Though she has come more closely in line with other superheroes (after joining the Birds of Prey for instance) her methods are still harsher than most.

Reason for Casting: To be honest Steinfeld may be my favorite choice on here. She has the facts to back up that she's probably one of the best young actresses today with True Grit and Begin Again nailed she can play an emotional character pretty well so if you put two and two together and add some badassery then you have Huntress.

Logan Lerman as Jason Todd/Red Hood
Jason Todd, was the second Robin, brutally murdered by the Joker. Resurrected, Jason turned against his mentor for not avenging his death. Now on a path to redemption, Jason uses the skills Batman taught him as an anti-hero using the Joker's former identity: The Red Hood.

Reason for Casting: Lerman has proven his acting ability and a lot of people have already fan cast Lerman as Todd and a lot of people would love to see the brotherly relationship between Todd and Grayson. You may think this may not work because Lerman is obviously older than Chalamet but hear me out. Lerman at 23 still has very youthful looks and I'm actually not sure if Todd was supposed to be older than Grayson. Even if he is supposed to Lerman stands at 5"9 while Chalamet stands at 6"1 so I doubt it'd be that hard to buy that Chalamet is older.

James Franco as The Joker
The Joker, Clown Prince of Crime, is Batman's arch-nemesis. An agent of chaos known for his purple three-piece suit and insidious smile, he has caused Batman more suffering than any other villain he has ever faced. His origin, name, and true motivations remain a mystery. With Batman hanging up his cape for the most part he faces challenges from his many trainees including Robin and Jason Todd.

Reason for Casting: This may be my toughest sell ever but I know I'm not the only one that thinks this could work. Franco may be a comedic failure to some but they have to admit when he does serious roles he has no issue going to the extremes and changing for it. This is why I think he could be a good Joker for television because his dedication to roles is something I admire and he's not all comedy with films like The Little Prince, Milk, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Sprague Grayden as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Catwoman, the costumed alias persona of Selina Kyle, is a mostly reformed cat burglar with an on-again, off-again, romantic relationship with Batman. She is shown as a woman who is very strong-willed, independent and morally conflicted with her past. In this universe, Selina is retired from her evil ways and acts somewhat like a mother figure to Grayson.

Reason for Casting: Most people know Sprague from her role on a little show nobody's really heard of called Sons of Anarchy. Nobody is expecting Grayden to bust out with six cartwheels so I really just felt she'd be best for the role of Catwoman as I picture it in a world with a retired Batman, living cozy with Bruce and being the mother figure Grayson never had in his life.

Liam Cunningham as Alfred Pennyworth
Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne's loyal father figure and butler. Alfred raised Bruce (and later Dick Grayson) after the death of the Waynes. A former British secret agent, Alfred is a skilled surgeon who often fixes members of the Bat-Family.

Reason for Casting: Remember what I said about GOT actors earlier? The same applies especially considering I want a badass Alfred who can show off some secret agent skills in this series.

Scott Adkins as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on criminals' fears, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman. Now retired, he leaves the safety of Gotham and it's sister neighborhood Jump City in the care of Dick Grayson and associates.

Reason for Casting: You may know Scott Adkins better as Barakapool but believe it or not he's actually a serviceable actor and an even better action star. In the event Bats would have to throw the cape back on for a last ride, Adkins would be the perfect actor to do so.

Well that's it for me. If you enjoyed this I suggest you stick around for my MCU Captain Marvel fancast coming in the near future. I leave you with a random GIF.

- I love Community. I think Dan would be interesting to run the show.
- I think you gave me a good choice to play Tim Drake in a future Batman fancast!
- Kinda weird that your Barbara Gordon and Cassie Sandsmark choices would have the right hair color if you switched them around.
- I haven't seen Boakye in action, nor do I know how tall he is. All I know is that he voiced a younger take on the Looney Tunes character Gossamer. My choice would be John Boyega.
- It's nice to see someone other than Elizabeth Gillies be chosen for Raven.
- I fondly remember Joel Courtney from Super 8. He's been on the low for quite a while so I haven't seen what he's been up to, nor what he looks like.
- I think Vanessa is still acting. She did a more mature role in Gimme Shelter. She'd be great for Cheshire!
- I see Peyton List as Stargirl, but she'd be just as good as Slade Wilson's daughter.
- Well, my choice would be Emily Ratajkowski, but for a slightly older Starfire. She did a very competent job in Gone Girl as the girl with the cum-on-me tits (that'll never leave), and is a model, a profession that Starfire takes up down the road.

- If you watch Ray Stevenson as Isaac Serko in the next-to-last season of Dexter, you'd agree that he'd do wonderful as Deathstroke. Or if you're going young, choose Joe Manganiello. After all, he almost got the role in Suicide Squad.
- Olivia Holt would be my choice for Stephanie Brown. She played a kung fu student in Kickin' It and has ballet training.

- God bless Michaela if she can adapt to such a dark, uncomedic role like Arella.
- I doubt Huntress starts out young. I'd say an actress between 25-26 would fit the bill.
- I'm feeling Alexander Ludwig as Red Hood. He played a psycho in The Hunger Games, in case you're wondering why.
- Franco wouldn't be a bad choice to consider. He's utterly fantastic adapting to either comedic or dramatic films. And his smile is often huge!
- a little show nobody's really heard of called Sons of Anarchy. LOL! If she has any training in martial arts/gymnastic/dancing/et al, Grayden would be a solid contender for Catwoman.
- I've seen Liam cast as Alfred here and there. He wouldn't be bad!

Fantastic cast once again!

That's not Kwesi Boakye. That's his older brother. Kwesi is the shortest in the pic below.

Solid effort, but honestly most of this cast just doesn't really sit right with me, but ignoring the negatives I will say I really liked Chalamet and Cunningham; could really have seen them work in the DCCU.

Ummm...you're not aware that Vanessa Hudgens is currently a lead actor in a Tony nominated Broadway show? Or is that still considered a break from acting haha. She's been working in theatre for the past few years, and has been pretty damn successful, with shows in LA and NYC.

I agree with A2K "Solid effort, but honestly most of this cast just doesn't really sit right with me" but my question is...why would Jason Todd be back as Red Hood when Dick is still Robin?...

Great cast, very unique. We have the same Alfred and I am a fan of Logan Lerman so it's nice to see him here. Gook idea for Peyton List she has potential. I like Carl Urban, but I don't know if I like him for Deathstroke. You have a new fan in me. I hope you check out my page.

Chloe Moretz as Batgirl is really good, but I think your pick for Grayson looks a LITTLE too young
