TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Adds Oscar Nominee Laura Linney

The currently shooting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel has added a three-time Oscar nominee to its cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Laura Linney will join April O'Neil and the Awesome Foursome when the movie hits next year, though her exact role is being kept under wraps. Aside from April, there aren't really that many major female (at least, human female!) characters in TMNT canon so I can't even hazard a guess as to who she might be playing. What about you guys?

Linney can currently be seen opposite Ian McKellan in Mr. Holmes. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is directed by Dave Green (Earth to Echo) with a script from Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol). The movie also stars Megan Fox as April, Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, Will Arnett as Vern Fenwick, Brian Tee as Shredder, and model Alessandra Ambrosio as herself. It's is set for release on June 3, 2016.
