With the recent release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Turtle Power is enjoying a major resurgence, and several of the Heroes in a Half-Shell's small-screen adventures have been added to streaming services over the past few months.
However, the original '80s TMNT animated series has always been very difficult to track down online, and up until now, had only been available on Pluto TV via the "Totally Turtles" channel.
Now, it's been announced (via Toonado.com) that the first two seasons of the beloved cartoon will be added to Paramount+ on September 19. No word on the later seasons, but we assume they will follow down the line.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - retitled Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in the UK and Ireland - brought Leo, Donnie, Mikey and Raph into the mainstream after the original Eastman and Laird comic series began to gain some attention.
The show was much lighter in tone than the often gritty and violent comic, but it catapulted the Fearsome Foursome into new heights of popularity after greatly expanding their audience.
"Set in New York City, the series follows the adventures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their allies as they battle the Shredder, Krang, and numerous other villains and criminals."
