Director Stephen Norrington (Blade, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) updates his The Crow update!

Stephen Norrington is set to direct the newest take on The Crow, created by James O'Barr in the 1980s as a self-published comic. The comic itself was originally written as a means of coping with the loss of his girlfriend to a drunk driver. It has spawned four movies, a brief-lived TV series and more comics.

Norrington told Variety in December 2008:

"Whereas [director Alex] Proyas’ original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style."

Norrignton recently told Mania that he would like to start shooting The Crow in the summer, but that it may have to take a back seat to the supernatural WWII film that he will direct.

He said that The Crow is moving towards a green light from the studio, saying that the producer and visual effects crew are working out the details, adding up the costs to get a realistic budget. The movie has a completed script, and Norrington said he hopes to start shooting in the summer.

No not Stephen Norrington!

The first Blade was good but LOEG not so much; never seen his other two movies. But from what I've seen the man is 50/50 on movie making.

Like LEEE777 said, stay away from Eric Draven!!!

Another reboot of a classic... Let's remake the Princess Bride and Big Trouble in Little China while we're at it. *Sigh*
