CW's THE FLASH Grabs Yet Another Actor From The Original 90's Series

It seems that the upcoming 17th episode of CW's THE FLASH will be a bonafide reunion as yet another actor from the original 1990 series is set to reprise his original role. Hit the jump for more.

It's a reunion folks! Fellow CB site KSite TV has recently reported that "The Flash" 1990 alum, Vito D'Ambrosio, who portrayed Officer Tony Bellows on the classic series is set to join fellow co-stars John Wesley Shipp and Mark Hamill in the upcoming 17th episode. However, while D'Ambrosio's character keeps the same name as his original portrayal it seems the character has received something of an upgrade.

Once a hapless officer who confusingly identified his aging partner Murphy as being The Flash, Tony Bellows will now be the Mayor of Central City. It is unknown whether D'Ambrosio will share screen time with his fellow 90's series co-stars. D'Ambrosio involvement marks the fourth actor from the 1990 series to be cast in CW's take on The Flash, and the third to play the same character. Amanda Pays previously played Dr. Tina McGee in the episode "The Man in the Yellow Suit" while Mark Hamill is set to portray James Jesse aka The (original) Trickster.

CW has not yet released the title or air date for episode 17.

Catch The Flash, Tuesdays at 8PM on The CW.

@MisterBatfleck
Considering the way things are going, it wouldn't be farfetched at all. Nice way to work in one or two of the many infinite earths, easily I'm sure.

@kevberg - "It'd be better if they relaxed the " rogue of the week" stuff."

Agreed. When Arrow introduced Malcolm Merlyn and broke away from the "villain of the week" it really hit it's stride. Flash has started off better, but it would be nice to have a change of pace/format.

@ImKennyPowers and @kevberg, I had a similar thought during the most recent episode. The silver lining is the overarching Reverse Flash/Wells storyline that keeps me interested week to week.

@RocknCBMs @kevberg

And we know Capt. Cold, Heatwave and Frost will reappear at some point too.

It'd just be nice if we had ongoing storylines spanning over a couple consecutive episodes.

Or that the TV suit is a figment of everyone's imagination & his real suit is actually red & not a shitty maroon color.
(i like the show..don't like the suit much. obviously..fix it CW.)

I wanted John Welsey Shipp as Jay Garrick since I heard he was returning.

Cool with him as Barry's dad though.

And yea @MisterBatfleck if no one has brought that idea to Geoff Johns of having a crossover with that, maybe Barry travels to another time period and where the original TV Flash is, then they should now.
